COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Can 33 cl. with old-fashioned opener. Clear an pale yellow pour with a almost-not-there-white-head. The nose is fresh a yeasty with some straws and light citrusnotes and a hint of perfume. The taste likeways with some perfumic soap pvertones.... hmmm this one brings forwards some back-packer memorys but tasted certaintly better at the new garden Hostel in steaming warm dormatories at the Chung King accomodation. Pale and light...

This is a very smooth beer excellent on a warm day. It has a light golden apperance and holds its head reasonably well The aroma is mildly hoppy, with malt flavours coming through in the aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Apple juice colored. Little head. Flat tasting. Not much flavor, pretty much a weak lager. Bit ricey. Fun to be rating a Chinese beer.

640ml bottle purchased at Albertsons in Harbor Pointe (Mukilteo), WA. Pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma: Slight skunky. Flavor: Moderate hops & malt. This one would be refreshing on a hot day.

Typically I don’t put stuff in my mouth made in China. Though not great, this lager exceeded my expectations. Taste/Aroma: fruit, tart, some hops, cereal. It is sort of cider like. Palate is dry and fizzy.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2009 330mL single bottle from the LCBO Stop Pours a pathetically pale yellow with way too much carbonation and fizz Stop As soon as I popped the cap off I could smell skunk, seriously, the very moment the cap came off Stop Wow Stop Bad smelling beer Stop Flavour is actually not bad though, pretty skunky but there is some decent hopppy dryness following some mediocre pale malts Stop Not as bad as I was expecting, and hey at least I can say I have had a Chinese beer, whether that really means much or not Stop I will actually almost enjoy finishing this Stop I will not have to stop drinking it Stop I just wish there was some sort of presence of legitimate craft beers in China and that they would stop making such boring stuff Stop
