COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Very pale yellow beer with lots of loose, fizzy bubbles. I got a big whiff of skunk as soon as I opened the bottle. The aroma had skunk, balloon rubber, and sticky sweetness in it. This is a sweet lager, with corn syrup, table sugar, and cotton candy, with a faint orange note. Really not much to recommend this, unless you like really sweet beer.

Bottle. Light yellow colour with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma. The flavour is hops, slightly sweet and some malts. For some reason this bottle had much more hops than Tsingtaos normally, so it was actually quite drinkable.

330 ml bottle. Your basic, watery pale lager. Not much to recommend it, but I needed something to wash down the Chinese food with.

12 oz bottle in WDW at the food and wine festival. It’s the michelob ultra of China - almost unbelievably light and taste-free.

Tried it at a Chines resteraunt. Not very good. Pours kind of flat to a small white head. Somewhat bitter taste that doesn’t get better with more than one. The body is light and the texture dry.

330ml green bottle from my dad. produced on 09/08/08, consumed on 16/11/08. pours pale yellow with some white head that reduces to a ring. soft carbonation. aroma: sweet grain and rice, cotton candy flavour: sweet, a touch of grainy malt, almost nothing to this one mouthfeel: thin and uninprired drinkability: i wouldnt say know to a free one but not something id ever purchase, not off flavour other then overly sweet

Bottle (330cl). Straw yellow colour with neglible head. Slight hoppy aroma. Fullish malty palate with hardly any bitterness to finish. Refreshing but there are many better sessionable lagers out there.
