COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

From a bottle poured clear golden color with a small head. Decent flavor, kind of watery with no real finish.

Bottle. Poured a clear golden color with a thin, fizzy white head. Aroma of light pilsner malt and grass. Light maltiness leads into a pretty watery finish. Not much flavor, reminds me of Heineken in a way. Alright with Chinese food, but that’s only if they don’t have anything else.

Bottle. Very grassy and hoppy, moderate sour. Small white foamy head, fast and fully diminishing, clear yellow body. Light sweet start, then it gets even sweeter; very short duration. Light body, light dry and watery, soft carbonation. Not my cup of tea...

Pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma of corn and sweet malts. Next to no flavor, some corn and whatnot, but yet another mass-produced lager that is way too abundant in the world.

The pour is a lighter golden yellow. With a small ring white suds that was supposed to be the head. The aroma is very light/subtle...a hint of grassy hops, mellow malts. The beer is very light bodied, the hops from the aroma fail to make an appearance on the pallate, and the malts are still very light...This beer is probably best drunk in the heat of the summer.

Despite it being rather gassy I did enjoy this beer while in China. It was extremely cheap and I thought it was one of the better Asian brewed beers I’ve had.

...well, not much here, other than rice, and cleansing qualities for spicy asian food. Highly carbonated, with a slight yeast malt taste, but not really. Pretty much avoid this unless your name is Wang, Chang, or Yi.

I love Chinese food, but this beer is not good at all. It’s only good to wash down food. No taste.
