Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle at a Chinese Food place. Poured into a frozen mug. Oh joy. Frothy white head and a very yellow, clear pour. Aroma was mostly nothing. A little funk smell was all. Taste was extremely watery with hints of bitter hops and an almost sour aftertaste. Blah. I couldn’t even finish it.

31/05/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from Fu Lay, Oudenaarde Very clear pale, with dissipating head. Smell isn’t that bad as other ones of this style but there’s not much to smell & taste either. Hay, grains, sweetness, yeast but all in a very small amounts.

Not very good... At all. Weak and watery with skunky notes. Of the Asian beers I've had this is the worst. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of hay and honey. Pours pale golden yellow with a rocky white head. Round mouthfeel but no strong taste notes other than a light sweetness that prevents it from being crisp. Distinctive but not a favorite.

Strong citrusy crisp smell. Pours a clear yellow. Somewhat bitter but with a complimenting sweet after taste. Light in carbonation.

BBD 8/5/15. Clear golden pour. Normal head volume, lacing and slightly below normal retention. Very light nose, even for a lager, just a hint of yeast and malt. Light medium body with a smooth texture. Superb carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and just the right amount for a nice prickly finish. For a lager, the flavor profile is reasonably intense, complexity is lacking but the balance is superb. It begins with a light grainy biscuit that is very subtly sweet. The middle brings an equally subtle mild hop bitterness that is perfectly balanced. Hop flavor is present only as a hint that it’s there. The finish is crisp, clean and leaves you with a fading mild bitterness with a grainy character. No skunking was evidenced. Possibly the best starter beer since it never really assaults the taste buds, but exposes all the classic lager elements in muted fashion.

谢谢 Your general lager..but better. Have had it from some Chinatown restaurants, though I highly prefer Shaoxing wine (try it you guys, it’s actually good) Bright gold, a bit of malt and a bit of sweetness. I actually would not mind if this was the preferred super cheap beer. It’s still super cheap but it has a bit of flavor you wouldn’t expect. As before, 谢谢
