COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Pale yellow, quickly deminishing head, no lace. No aroma. Neutral palate. "Refreshing" only in a macro-brewed pale lager sense. Absolutely nothing unique here.

[Bottled at a chinese reastaurant at Sveavägen, Sthlm] Golden with a brief, white head. A lot of bubbles. Pretty fresh mouthfeel. No bitterness with notes of oranges. Bland and industrial.

Much like a traditional pilsner. It has a bit of metallic aroma.

Svesse (4215) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 25, 2010
(Bottle at some Chinese restaurant in Stockholm, 29 May 2010) Pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with grain, hay and rice. Malty taste with notes of bread, grain, grass and a touch of citrus. Low bitterness, rather thin body and fairly sweet. No foul flavours, just thin, sweet and fairly boring.

Bottle. Looking at the list if ingredients, I should have hated this. However, I have drank much worse. Pale gold with a decent white head that left moderate lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and rice with a whiff of hops. Flavour was a tad sweet with a vaguely hoppy finish. Inoffensive.

Bouteille verte de 355 ml. Arôme: Très légèrement "skunké". Odeur de houblon assez présente. Apparence: Couleur paille. Petit col qui disparaît vite. Faible carbonisation. Saveur: Très léger goût de moufette. Goût de houblon prononcé. Palette: Légère amertume agréable en bouche. (Rating #19)

[829-20071108] 330mL. Aroma has a bit of metallic plasticky fish, a bit of straw, and a bit of sweet honey in the background. Clear, dark yellow body with a quick bubbly white head. Flavour has a sweet hint of light honey straw malt. Light-medium body has a little astringency. Would go well with seafood; nice sweet finish makes up for the smell... almost. (I like how they kept the old spelling for the beer name even though its namesake city had to change with the new conventions.)

thedm (4116) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 9, 2003
This brew poured a small head of fine to large sized white colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a transparent softly carbonated straw yellow colored body and a minimal lace. The aroma was a very mild malt hop one. The mouthfeel was tingly and bubbly from its start to its finish. The flavor was a typical malt hop one with a little bite and bitterness.
