COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle (4,5% abv). Tiny white head, straw yellow color. Light sweet malts and mild hayish hops in the aroma. Clean and neutral taste. A little semi-sweet fruits and some noteable maltsweetness. Light body. Mild and inoffensive. Not bad, only an Asian that eager to please.

I bought this beer just for the fun of it - shipping beer all the way from China to Norway seems like the ultimate absurdity, if the beer isn’t something extraordinary. This beer isn’t. But Tsingtao is not outright bad either - it just isn’t very interesting. Heineken-like aroma, neutral flavour, overly carbonated, no lasting head. Sure it would be refreshing on a summer’s day in China - exporting it to Europe should be considered a waste of resources.

Bottle. Pours light gold with a frothy white head. The taste is a light mix of hops and a sweet malt. Not much, but not too bad. A clean crisp taste. A lot like Heineken.

Clear pale golden color with a thin frothy white head. Sweet aroma with some light sour hints. Very smooth flavor of light malts.

I was gonna wait ti I went to a Chinese restaurant, but it was on sale. As far as generic country lagers go, this is definitely at or near the top of my list. Good slightly warm too, great for what it is.

Has an acidic somewhat metallic taste. While it has a somewhat pleasant aroma it has only a light malty taste and a cheap soapy hops. The only things this beer is good with is strong food because it will compete with the flavor maybe even cover up a bad food taste.

Light yellow color, little white head. Mildly hoppy aroma, some sweet and skunky tones too. Flavor has grassy notes with lasting hops and carbonation. Dry ending with somehow oily palate. Thin to medium bodied.

The beer is a light clear straw with a thin white head. The aroma is just hops and skunk and the same is said for the taste. The feel is a little less watery than I thought but its drinkability is held back by a bitter skunked finsih.
