COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Hoppy scent. Light in colour. Barley taste, flat. Unimpressive.

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with this one, except that it is made in China. (Hey, aren’t they communist? What are they doing making beer? What is the relationship between those two things? I dunno.) Anyway, don’ t buy this at a restaurant as it is tooooo pricey for what you get.

Low , faintly malty aroma. No head and straw coloured. Sweet malt in the mouth quickly disappears in the aftertaste which becomes dry and flavourless.

One word: Bland. I gave this beer a fighting chance, on more than one occasion. I tend to order this beer (or more like ’force this stuff upon myself’ because Chinese restaurants usually have CRAPPY beer selections) every time I go out for Chinese. And everytime I’m reminded how much I don’t like it. I’m waiting for the Chinese Brewpub - then I can finally say I’ve seen it all.

Roast grain and slightly skunked aroma. Medium gold and fair head, fading to a border lace. Bready, sweet, grainy. Above average pilsener. I was ready to savage this beer, but was pleasantly surprised. Very German/Czech tasting, though lightly hopped.

Bottle. Pretty average, bland, slightly ricey. Decently drinkable and unoffensive.
