COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Very light and grainy flavor. Slightly grassy and crisp in the finish, but not enough to be quenching like a pils. Fairly subtle beer overall, very clean and fizzy flavor. Probably goes nice with spicy food to clean the palate.

Pathetically weak and...pathetic. A totally lame, crisp and fizzy excuse for beer.

A bit like drinking liquid straw although not the worst pils I have tasted. Thinnish body with no real edge to it. Not one I would try again.

The other decent premium lager I’ve had is Kronenburg. This tsing is a 12 oz green bottle, label looks a little different than is displayed here. No skunk when I pop the top and it has a very clean mild aroma. Has bubbles constantly arising from the bottom and the color is typical pale clear yellow american beer. Very good decent first taste impression. Well behaved with above average carbonation tingle. Nice even taste that cannot be much different than american lagers. Has a bit of alky impact in there. Nothing really great but well behaved and enjoyable. No tremendous outstanding personality and some of us like it that way. Finish has a strange industrial mild bitterness to it that hangs on for a minute or two. However, it is not as industrial as King Lager. Better than sam adams boston lager and Saranac traditional lager.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear yellow with a thin white head. Smells like a beer. Some hops and a light touch of malts and dry hay. Flavor is light and cleansing. Doesn’t last too long on the palate. Refreshing.

bottle - There’s nothing impressive here. It’s a bit sweet, lacking in hops, and it’s basically yet another pale, fizzy, yellow beer. In my opinion it’s better than a bud, but that’s not saying a whole lot. Have it with your Chinese food occasionally and otherwise don’t bother.

Highly malted yes, highly hopped?....nope. Your normal malty Chinese beer.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours a very clear and very pale beer, with a white head. The aroma is full of rice and a little malt. The flavor is pilsnermalt, with a slightly yeasty sweetness and a mild ending. The palate is refreshing. Overall not a big tasting experience, but a refreshing lager beer.
