COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2003 Bottle. This is pretty standard fare, but it does have a nice chalky quality to it, and is reassuringly crisp. This is a classic session beer for a night down the Arcadian Centre in Birmingham.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2009 Bottle in frosty glass, at Chinese restaurant. Straw colored, and poured so exactingly by the waiter as to leave no head (I seem to recall medium-sized head when I poured as normal). Typical skunky lager aroma dissipates quickly into barely-there floral scent. Taste initially nuts and hop, then malt, with nuts winning out, but not much to either side. Slight sweet aftertaste. Doesn’t have the "there’s a headache coming" taste that American lagers have, but that may be due to no teenage-years overexposure to this beer. I swear I can taste rice in the bottom. OK beer; just now learning at 45 I’m not a light lager fan.

this yellow beer had minimal head atop and smelled like sweet sushi rice...bland but unoffensive flavors...mildy sweet...actually, not really all that bad for what it is..

Light malt nose and piss yellow color. Stale cardboardy taste. Thin. Not good.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow with fast fading white fizzy head. Aroma of skunk and a sharp malt back bone. Not much flavor here, light malt with light mild hop profile. Mouth feel is very watery with high carbonation. Overall, no wonder I overlooked rating this. It is easy drinking though.

Yellow color and clear with a thin head. Off smell with a little hops and a touch of malts. Taste is weak, water with malts like tea.

SHIG (2530) - Osan, SOUTH KOREA - JAN 15, 2007
Bottle: Poured a golden yellow with a white head. The aroma was soft and grainy probably because of the rice ingredience used to make it. The flavor was a smooth pils like taste of grain. Worked pretty well with the spicy Chinese dish that I was eating.

Green bottled crap beer. The skunk reminds you of Chinese sewage, the color is pale gold.
