COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle. Pour was a bit skunk, but when I let the head settle, aroma mostly mild hop. Certainly can tell the adjunct used in this one is rice. Flavor isn’t bad, and when cold, nice pair to Chinese food.

Bottle 330ml @ China House, Odda
Pours clear pale yellow with almost no head. Aroma has notes of malt, rice and hay. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Ethereal (2355) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2010
Bottle at Indian Summer, Brighton, 14th July 2010. Piss yellow with an attempt at some head. Weak nose, bit of cardboard & paper. Bland, weak and watery macro lager taste. This is a "Thatcher" beer - only drink when *there is no alternative*!

Bottled. Pale golden beer with a fine, steadily rising head. Strong rice aroma and flavour. The first sniff and taste of this beer send you reaching immediately for the details on the bottle. ‘Rice’ stands out proudly on the bottom of the label. Not a great larger but at least they're not hiding the fact they use adjuncts. Low bitterness and a distinct lack of malt and hops.

Bart (2329) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 20, 2005
Very clear yellow colour, small and diminishing head. Maybe just one hop in the aroma; some carbonation, simple beer, no texture, little bit wattery. Almost no finish.

Light gold - med creamy head. Weak aroma: light skunk and cooked rice. Somewhat vegetal - cooked onions? Smells strangely like the food its often served with. Mostly clean and bland - a little bitterness. Either my palate has overly adapted tonight or this is one seriously bland beer.

Golden coloured brew. Typical lager aroma. Light and a bit watery flavor, but not bad. Refreshing brew. Not special, but fairly drinkable.

I really enjoyed reading the many entertaining comments and ratings left in regards to this beer. In fact, I enjoyed them more than I did the beer itself. I would actually rather drink ice water, yes, even with my Chinese food.
