COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottled, Pasteurised. Pale insipid yellow beer, thin head. Thin, watery flavour, a little hop impact saves the day but won't be searching it out.

Hint of burnt rubber, along with grassy hop. The "skunk" was gone in moments. Medium gold color with a white head that filmed immediately. Sort of a barley malt sweetness, not thinking corn or rice at all. Unfortunately it is a little light on the bitter, and the finish does seem to have a hint of skunk. I’m a bit sensitized to that sort of aroma, because I used to work with mercaptans. Methyl mercaptan exploded all over me once. Whether it was light blemished or the skunk is natural, it is not a bad beer. Heck of a lot more character than many lagers.

A Mes rate: From a Chinese Restaurant in Crouch End. Yes. I kid you not. Much better than expected. Too much carb. Cereal chunkyness about it. Clearly thats the wrong word. There is nothing chunky about this. Refreshing and drinkable. Will probably only ever drink this again if it is free and there is nothing else...

Bottle. Poured a lighter golden/yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of corn, grain and malts. Tastes of corn with a light honey sweetness. Thin and watery body.

Bottle 12oz. Clear light amber with small white head. Small aroma. Light body with small texture. Light flavor with little to no finish. Clearly a below average lager.

JoeMcPhee (6821) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 2, 2004
Pale golden colour with fairly thin white head. Strong scent of fruit, flowers, and honey over a nice light malt. Floral taste with a crisp finish. Pretty good with anything spicy.

Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2004
I guess i had a fresh bottle has the nose was faint malt, no skunk around here. The taste says adjunct but the bitterness saves this beer, as it makes it crisp. Very light and bland body.
