COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Golden colour with a small white head. Malty aroma with a cereal note and a light sweetness. Watery taste with some malts and a faint bitterness in the finish.

My sample was not fresh , tasted stale . Stalle aroma notes as well (da ?!) . Would taste propablly better in China (fresh sample) , but was smooth ... few pts extra for that .

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, light bread), lightly hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Reasonably clean and inoffensive, but unbalanced (sweet), adjuncty, and boring.

My first Tsingtao was really bad (0.5), but a couple of days ago I had another one, which wasn’t that awful.

Grainy aroma. Yellow golden color, white head, few lace. Maltsweet, rahter full but grainy. Short malty finish. Although not really a very bad brew I couldn't finish it because of it's grainy fullness.

Almost an american premium style. Slight sweet malt with a sweet noble hop finish. A beer well suited for chop suey.

Bottle. Skunky aroma hit me before I even got the cap off - has a sharp sour (almost rotting) malt aroma. Light yellow with small head. Slight sweet mildly fruity and tangy malt flavor. Bitter flavor actually comes as an aftertaste. Not horrible, not great.

Sampled on 3/22/2009. This Pale lager pours a fizzy gold beer color from a 640ml green bottle. Small sized, quickly dissipating foamy head. The aroma is horrid, skunk, urine, cereal, some malt and then some artificial chemical smell, wet dog and cardboard, it does settle down to a bad euro lager smell after a while. A light bodied Pale Lager. The malts are cereal and grainy, with a bunch of rice. The hops are slightly spicy. Very weak and watery tasting. There is an overall taste of cardboard and wet dog as it warms. Is this supposed to be a Chinese version of Heineken? Its just horrid. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
