COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Probably the best option for a lager, when one goes to the local Chinese restaurant. Pale in colour and quite ricey - I wouldn’t drink this in the pub as is by no means a session beer; however, tastes good when one is tucking into a spicy Szechuan labrador and a sweet and sour viper! As the late Bruce Forsyth was wont of saying: "The rice is right!"

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2008 12 oz bottle from Bull Run. This beer has a nice aroma and smooth taste, not much there, but easy to drink.

Clear golden blond coloured beer with small white head and medium carbonation. Sweet (nuts) aroma. Full slightly creamy palate. Finish is first little bitter later you taste walnuts. Quite longer finish. Special one, I appreciated it very much. Keep the nuts coming.

A: The beer pours a pale straw color with lots of visible carbonation and a short lived white head. S: Lots of corn and rice aromas to it, which isn’t really surprising. A light/pale malt aroma and a little bit of flowers and grass. Minimal yeast and bread notes. T: A light bready flavor with a surprising amount of malt flavor. Light bitterness and grassy notes with just a hint of skunk. Sweet grain, particularly from the adjuncts. M: Light in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: A light and easy to drink beer. Not really my favorite, but it goes well with a Chinese meal.

Very clear pale yellow color with a super white, soapy head. Lots of bubbles. Head retention wasn’t too bad and it left a decent amount of lacing. Once the head was gone it left a fine little ring around the top. Not too bad looking really. A mild, somewhat grassy hop aroma. Some floral notes and I am getting hints of an almond note. Not bad at all. This beer has a nice bit of sweetness to the flavor. It was pleasant enough. Some of the "grassy" hop flavor makes an entrance, but it was subdued. A type of citrus in there also. Maybe green grapes? Puzzling. Light mouthfeel that was very smooth and easy going. Very crisp and only a slight bit watery. Some flavoring was left on the palate, but not an over abundance. This beer is easily drinkable. Would be great during the Summer. Very thirst quenching and refreshing. Lacks a bit in flavor, but a beer for socializing without complexity. A beer one wouldn’t have to ponder or try to analyze too much.

Good lager. All around good taste. Not the best I have had but will definitely drink again I’m sure.

Clear pale yellow colour. Smells like a regular pilsener, alcohol and malts. Tastes watery, sweet, bit cheap.. Okay pilsener.

Crisp, dry, and refreshing. My first few sips of this reminded me of Heineken but surprisingly this did not develop the overly bitter, offensive aftertaste often accompanying that other beer in the green bottle. Slight malt and yeast presence, with a semi-hoppy finish. I was pleased with how ’not-bad’ this was.
