COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Golden color with small white head. Nice lager aroma of malts and a bit of skunk. The flavor was refreshing and smooth. Malty notes to go along with some noble hops. It leaves a pleasant malt aftertaste that isn’t too sweet. Other than the small skunk smell I couldn’t detect a fault in this beer.

A few of these complimented my meal at Joe’s Ginger in Chinatown NYC......another light lager with little distinguishable character.....tasty and refreshing.....a solid liquid to wash down the bold flavours of Chinese cooking.....it also worked to help remove the stains from an exploding dumpling from my brother’s attire.......just OK.

Green 12oz bottle. Bright yellow and very clear. Aroma of water and some hop. Body is very light and refreshing. Well balanced. The Chinese sure did make an inexpensive mock-up of A Premium Lager with this one. exceeded my expectations!

I’d put this one and Heineken in the same class as far as quality goes. The aroma is predominantly metallic with a hint of lime. Pours out golden yellow with a rapidly fading head. Tastes great, one of the best features of this beer: a well-balanced iron, hops and biiter lime concoction that is borderline skunky. Perfect balance of carbonation with the taste.

I can’t believe I used to "like" this beer. Very very odd. Pours a crystal clear yellow with a small ring of white foam around the top. Aroma of apple cider, which, funnily enough, is exactly how it tastes. I don’t know if it was my batch/bottle/glass but I could swear it tasted like a cider/beer hybrid. Very odd. Undercarbonated and thin. Some notes of alcohol. No aftertaste. Done and done.

I was introuduced to Tsingtao during a sushi dining experience. I found the flavor sweet and mild. The appearance is clear golden in color. Overall I place it as a refreshing & complimentary beverage for chinese or japanese cusine if you can’t handle or don’t like Sake.
