COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Clear golden color with okay head. Rice beer with a sweet note. Slightly watery but a good lager.

Very neutral blond beer. Golden colour with a fast decreasing head. The taste is smooth with floral aromas, light body but it is quite sparkling. I’d never drink it on its own, but next to chicken tandoori or duck it’s pretty good!

33 cl bottle from Centra. Pale beer, plenyt of CO2. Full malty taste, but there is some bitterness, too. But the bitterness is not very pleasant, it is probably for hop extracts. With some more care, this could have been a decent pilsener.

Pale yellow with a head that fizzed out quickly. Malty and a bit watery, but crisp and cool.

Appearance: Pours out a brilliant, light yellow body with a frothed, white head. Smell: Initial skunk whiff. Let me do the Jumble and I’ll be right back. Alright, now that that’s blown away, we can get some faint maltiness, cereal sweetness, and a light touch of plain floral hops. Taste: Faint maltiness with some standard cereal sweetness. Very mild floral hops with just a minimal, though growing amount of bitterness. Finishes dry and clean with a dainty crispness. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Just another forgettable, faceless lager from China that makes me really wish I had some Chinese grub to pair with it. Mongolian Chicken, Pork Lo Mein, Moo Goo Gai Pan -- bring it on. Heck, I’ll even go for Broccoli Beef!

Light golden colour, thin head. Aroma of sweet malt and a bit hoppy noose. Very easy and pleasant to drink.

4.7% bottle at home. Another one that got away. We’ve all had this no end of times in Chinese restaurants the length and breadth I’m sure. Pale and fizzing with a sheet of froth. Deadening condition Vs some mildly fiery tom yum. Soapy aloe-like aroma with hints of wholemeal and pine. Clean taste: pine scrubbed with TCP clean in fact. Some corn and biscuits. Not bad.
