COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

A very average lager. Well Balanced, very smooth. Very American in flavor.

Actually better than I had hoped for. Poured pale yellow color with white fizzy head, typical beer/wheat aroma. Some kind of rice/corn flavor that balances well with the maltiness. Paired perfectly with a spicy dish of kung pao chicken

Hoppy aroma, though less hops apparent in the actual taste, which was inoffensive but lacking in character as well. A little bitter, and some hops present, but nothing to write home about. I think drinking it close to the country of origin helps (which I’m doing now)--I don’t expect it to hold up so well far from China. Still, I would choose it over certain other mass-market brews, if that was my only choice.

Well, It goes well with food, in the sense that it doesn’t have enough flavor to interfere with it. Not bad in any specific way; It’s just once you get past the ’Hey! Chinese beer!’ factor, it isn’t terribly unique.

This pilsener beer pours a clear golden color with a small, fizzy white head that does not linger. The aroma is slightly hoppy and grassy with a bit of sweetness from the malts and corn. It has a light body with moderate carbonation and a smooth, slightly watery mouthfeel. The flavor is slightly sweet and the hops show themselves briefly in the finish. Not bad, drinkable with no off flavors, though the flavor it does have is not very impressive. This would make a good, light beer to go with some Asian dishes.

Aroma a little sweet, a little hoppy, but only a little of both. Color is medium-pale gold--head average, i.e. acceptable...Flavor medium-light blend of hops and malt--but hoppiness the more distinctive. This is one I only drink at Chinese or Thai restaurants, but it seems to successfully navigate those culinary waters, because I continue to order it.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 Bottled 33cl. It pours a yellow beer with a fast diminishing white head. Nice aromas: Biscuitty, hoppy, oily, grassy, grainy. Indeed, the nose is quite nice! A graniy taste with some grassy elements. A hint of oiliness. Rather watery taste. Some oiliness comes through again just before a great dry, citrussy and biscuitty finish. A rather good lager! More than decent.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a bright white dense fizzy head. Nose is corn and grass. Palate is crisp and fizzy, lots of bubbles. Flavor is corny and grass notes. very crisp, refreshing and light.
