COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

A little like the sourtheast asian beer, tsinga. You can taste the rice. Still very smooth and lager-y.

Not a bad beer. Quite golden in colour with a very individualistic taste.

Low , faintly malty aroma. No head and straw coloured. Sweet malt in the mouth quickly disappears in the aftertaste which becomes dry and flavourless.

My first Asian brew. I was expecting something thin and watery, but was greeted with a pretty good beer, and it held its own while competing with spicy Chinese food. A little skunky, but smooth enough so that you forget. Good enough, but I wouldn’t buy it anywhere except a Chinese place.

Not a very good pilsener at all. Too skunky for me, and avery unexciting hops flavor. Nothing too special.

Maybe drank this too warm. Part of a an ’Asian selection’ pack. Malty aroma/taste came through, but just not as sharp and crisp to cut through nibbles or food as some others. (would take again though)

Light golden, medium head, no lace. Mild aroma with some cookie like crisp malt. Light to medium body. Moderate bitter, a bit sweet, notes of crisp cookie-like malt. More bitter, sweeter finish.
