COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Poured a golden color with a medium white head and some light lacing. Buttery diactyl, and sweet corn aroma. Taste was that of sweet malts, possibly some corn as well, and finishing very lightly hoppy.

Incredible, I have had so many of these and have not yet rated it. Unlike many others I actually don’t mind this. It is only to be consumed with Chinese food and preferably in their restaurants, not with take-away. I agree that it simetimes has a goss odour but often in Australia it is fresh and therefore not lightstruck. the most recent foray with this was last Saturday at the Sharkfin Restaurant in Melbourne’s Chinatown. After a day at the races where the stinky boys consumed about 10 Carlton Draughts followed by a couple of Belgians in our hotel room before the footy, this was not a bad drop. A more serious review may be less kind so let’s just leave it at that.

I dunno who classified this as a premium lager because it certainly isn’t premium. There are a lot worse beers out there, it was kind of light and refreshing without any huge flavour. A bit on the dull side and not much head. It isn’t going to knock your socks off, but its probably a lot better than most Chinese beers.

Clear yellow with a white head. Hay aroma. Taste is sweet malt with some light hops. Clean. Decent body.

Bottle 12oz. Clear light amber with small white head. Small aroma. Light body with small texture. Light flavor with little to no finish. Clearly a below average lager.

I had low expectations, but was pleasently surprised. There is definitely something going on with the rice in there. Clean hoppy taste with light maltiness. I was thirsty when I drank it so it barely touched the sides as it were.

The white head diasapears quick. No hop. A beer with almost no taste. This beer is good when it is served in a chinese restaurant with a couple of friends.

A nice golden coloring with strong carbonation, this offers a very mild malty aroma. It’s a clean, crisp drink that goes good with any meal.
