COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Pours a golden yellow colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of earthy hops and a distinct yeast. Initial taste begins grainy that balance out with some toasty malts. Finishing with a minor bitter hops. Overall enjoyable.

April 22nd, 2007 On draft in Guangzhou, China: Not my favorite in China (Pearl River), but it is close. I don’t really consider it beer, but instead fine quality H2O. I drink a lot of it while in China to kill any pesky bacteria growing in my stomach. It has a nice hoppy taste and reminds me of a mediocre version of Stella Artois.

Ecco, vedi? Non l’avevo ancora saggiata; sono stato astuto a scroccarne un sorso dalla coinquilina che aveva preso cinese al takeaway.

12oz bottle. Gold with a small, dissipating head. Lightly skunky, grassy aroma. Pale malt flavors with light hop flavor and bitterness. Dry fiinish. Light bodied. If the bottle had been kept out of the light, this would be a pretty smooth pale lager. Decent enough for what it is.

Very light and grainy flavor. Slightly grassy and crisp in the finish, but not enough to be quenching like a pils. Fairly subtle beer overall, very clean and fizzy flavor. Probably goes nice with spicy food to clean the palate.

Bottle, Honolulu. Surprised at how much I enjoyed this beer. Not much to say. Well balanced, full lager. For the price, this is great.

Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is a slightly sweet grain but nothing more. Pretty much the same when it comes to taste. Not a horrible beer, but nothing good at the same time. Probably the only decent selection when you go to a chinese restaurant anyway, but even then, I would just get the tea.
