COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Vertical Bacon Strips (1615) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 15, 2009
The new fancy looking bottle makes this appear better but it’s not. The agressive pour still didn’t produce a cap that lasted more than 10 seconds. Nothing now. Pretty weak gold for colour but it is very clear. The aroma is mainly grains. Nothing offensive here as the smell seems fairly clean but it needs more and is just plain. Taste is pretty grainy with some nice bitterness on the finish but watery overall. Mouthfeel is decent with a foamy swish. Light bodied. Short lived mild bitter aftertaste. Reliable but boring.

sinkhole (258) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 9, 2007
Bottle. Poured pale yellow with minimal head, overly carbonated. Aromas and tastes of grassy hops. Crisp clean finish thanks to watery lack of flavours. Not offensive and not memorable either.

Decent Chinese mass produced beer. Tsingtao means clear island FWIW. solid beer.

Bottle. Golden colour almostb without head. Aroma and flavour of hops and rice.

Bottle. Pour was a bit skunk, but when I let the head settle, aroma mostly mild hop. Certainly can tell the adjunct used in this one is rice. Flavor isn’t bad, and when cold, nice pair to Chinese food.

Unoffensive and unimpressive. Very pale body with virtually no head. The aroma is light and sweet with a touch of apple. Thin palate with light carbonation. The flavor is smooth but bland. Light and moderately sweet. No bitterness to speak of. Meh.

Bottle - Pours a typical prem. lager way with a fairly fast-fall head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and sour with hints of cereal, but still fairly clean. The taste has similar notes, but with added notes of metal and mild hops. If served nice and cold, it is very refreshing!

Pales a very pale golden colour, with no head and a white ring. Aroma of malts. Flavour of malt, malt, a little dash of hops, and malt. Nothing offensive really. Just really malty. Refreshing i suppose, goes alright with strong flavoured foods. But there are much much better beers out there.
