Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottled. Best I can say about this is it lets me paste a "China" stamp in my album of country statistics. Big foamy head at pour that hangs around too long. Pale straw color, and generic "beer" smell. Hard to get a good sip out from under the hunka foam. Taste makes me yearn for the more complex flavor profile of a Budweiser. After some effort, I can taste a little malt sweetness and a slightly bitter aftertaste. To paraphrase the old stereotype, it takes much less than an hour again for me to be thirsty... for a real beer. Again, it doesn't taste bad per se, just has no taste at all.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear pale golden beer with a medium white head ; poor retention. Cereal, herbal (+). Light sweet, light dry bitter refreshing. Light body, thin texture, average carbonation, dry average bitter refreshing finish. Overall, not too bad, OK herbal aroma, refreshing, thin.

Bottle 0,33l from local Lidl. Clear pale body, small white head. Aroma of malts and lemon tea. Taste is empty, sligthly sweet with bad tones. Thin watery body. Bad one.

From the bottle, pours clear golden with quickly vanishing head. Sour nose grainy. Taste is grassy and you can imagin to taste the rice dunno if this is actually the case. Grainy herbal taste. Quick smooth finish. A bit more interesting then other asian Majors...

Extremely average pale lager. Japanese beers are all about balance; nothing is ever dominating or extreme. Which, to some people is very bad, we want a specific taste from our beer. For pale lagers, they are supposed to be balanced. As long as they’re not too sweet. This beer flows down easy, tastes good, is refreshing, and is not too sweet.

A little flat and thin foam proves very briefly at the top of this lager from China. The fragrance is hardly found, but with a little skill you can trace the hops and a subtle aroma of citrus. The taste is first dominated by hops and replaced the side of a little watery taste that results in a bitter taste like something you find in a usual mainstream lager. It certainly has no special features, but is undoubtedly good as a thirst quencher and fits fine for some strong and spicy Chinese dishes.
