Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle. Clear, hay color, no head. Aroma: Skunk, skunk, some honey, some esters, some solvent. I is not disguisting, but not pleasant. Taste: Medium sweetness, some sournes from CO2 and nothing else. Flavor of corn, malt. Like most lagers. High carbonation masks watery body of the beer, it makes it quite refreshing. Lager with some faults, green bottle makes it skunky, long BB date makes it honey. (BB 12.03.2015, so it is pretty old, but still not too old). Get something different if you can, but it is possible to drink it.

- Alcoholpercentage van 4,8% - Biertje gedronken destijds dat me niet kon bekoren - Kan me veel lekkerder biertjes voorstellen, maar kan met mijn smaakvoorstelling te maken hebben - Vandaar mijn lage beoordeling ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml can, white with red logo and blue Chinese filigree, labeled 5.0% alc/vol, from Qingdao brewery, and purchased at Liquor Depot. Served in a tall pilsner flute glass. Pours the lightest shade of pale I’ve ever seen in a beer, with plenty of carbonation, and the tiniest wisp of there-and-gone froth. Aroma...almost none. Diluted apple juice and ginger ale most prominently, and smidgens of malt and Rice Krispies without additional sugar. Flavor is identically anemic - it makes Corona seem like a Russian stout. Thinner and more watery than its original brewing water, with the faintest and shortest of aftertastes. If the timid, super-gentle pegasus pony Fluttershy were a beer, she’d be a Tsingtao. My "average" rating is due to it being very pleasantly devoid of anything unpalatable or foul, and for hiding a solid 5% ABV punch behind its mild manner (like Fluttershy’s "Stare" that renders angry, vicious beasts compliant and agreeable). It’s a perfectly fine choice for any food (a spice-extinguisher for fiery cuisine), would make an ideal base for most beer cocktails (quickly, to the lab...for science!), is remarkably refreshing (my farming father used to drink from a pail of water with oats added, claiming it was more hydrating, so I guess the rice in this brew does the same), and is eminently poundable for getting ’faced, if you so wish (I’d highly advise against it; anyone who mistakes this for a 3-4% light/low-carb beer will end up dangerously smashed). I’m not ashamed to admit I like "TT" a lot. It has its charms.

Se boit bien...avec soif et nourriture asiatique. Sans grand intérêt en dehors.
