500ml brown bottle. Deep golden-orange pour, clear. Big off white head. Nose has some sweet citrus, orangey. Taste has some malt sweetness, some hop fruitiness. Finishes with orange and grapefruity notes, trace of resin and some Nelson Sauvin character lingers as well. Dry end, grainy note, balanced bitterness. Medium body with medium carbonation. Very drinkable with a nice hop blend.

500ml bottle pours a pale golden amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some excellent lacing on the glass. Aroma is big on the citrus and passionfruit. Taste is a light fruity and malty sweetness with a bold grapefruit hop bitterness that lingers on the palate but is quite pleasant. This is a bold and flavorful APA with a slight twist that is truly delightful on the palate and highly recommended.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 OJB (39) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 19, 2012
The colour was strong copper amber, a bit cloudy, with a strong frothy head and medium carbonation. The aroma was strong green and resiny with hops and light malt balance. The taste had sweet orange citrus malt fruit and long bitter hoppy resin finish. This beer was nice crisp and bitter.

This was a great beer. Fantastic balance, great hoppy flavour that was not overwhelming, leading into a nice gentle finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 daleharshman (792) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 19, 2012
Draft at The Malt House in Wellington, NZ while on holiday last month. Pours amber-orange with off-white head. Aroma is not particularly strong but does have notes of mango, peach, apricot, some earthy citrus, and some caramel. Flavor is full of tropical fruit (mango and passion fruit really stand out). Other flavor notes include: banana, bubblegum, and some nicely balanced caramel malt and honey. Though obviously hoppy, this is not very bitter. The New Zealand hops really stand out nicely here with their tropical fruit notes. Especially after drinking all the APA’s and IPA’s here in California, that’s a nice change of pace. (20, 705)

Lovely still, not quite as fruity as the original american hops based APA. Similar pine & skunk depth though and shovels of citrus flavours.

Pours a golden/amber with thick fluffy head. Citrus hops on the nose. Extremely smooth and extremely tasty, with fruits such as lychee and grapes including very little bitterness. This is a great session beer with plenty of flavour!
