3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml brown bottle. Deep golden-orange pour, clear. Big off white head. Nose has some sweet citrus, orangey. Taste has some malt sweetness, some hop fruitiness. Finishes with orange and grapefruity notes, trace of resin and some Nelson Sauvin character lingers as well. Dry end, grainy note, balanced bitterness. Medium body with medium carbonation. Very drinkable with a nice hop blend.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A well balanced smooth golden pale ale with a fun fruity/floral hop character. Good session beer.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed a few days after purchase, however fresh a New-Zealand IPA can be in a Vermont store.
The look: Clear golden body topped by a medium white head with medium retention.
In long: The medium-aromatic hoppy nose is part fruity (mostly tropical) and part floral. In mouth the body feels full yet very light, like a mouthful of airy foam. Discreet semi-toasted cereals, a certain fruity sweetness just like dried fruits, an overall fluffy cotton candy sensation, a bitterness in the soft-medium range that is just enough to balance out the malt sweetness. The hops flavors are kind of fun, blending blood oranges, mangos, papayas, grapefruits, kiwis, and other exotic fruits, all that over a bed of flowers. A decent beer but it lacked punch, I wish I could drink a fresh pint of this on the side of the planet, it might be kick-ass when very fresh. You guys should know that my doctor forced me to stop drinking beer and after only one week and my cholesterol was down 2 points, my energy level was up 20%, my BMI was down 3 points, my heart rate was up two beats per minute and my will to live was down to zero.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Deep golden body with loose white head that settles to a stable collar and decent lace. Nose and taste is hoppy (resin, floral, citrus, grapefruit, orange) with a toasty malt bill and a substantial dry bitterness that lingers. Medium body and carbonation with oily texture. A little too hoppy and unbalanced to get top marks from me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle, blonde-orange color, with a thick pillowy white head, light pale, toasted, caramel malt nose, with a mild earthy floral citrus, leafy, grassy hop, toffee accent, and a faint fruit salad note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice earthy pale, toasted, caramel malty, flowery leafy, grassy, citrus hoppy character, with some mild lemon, grapefruit peel, lemon pie crust flavours, with a toffeeish undertone, leading towards a mild toasted, caramel maltiness, lingering citrus, leafy, grassy hop bitterness finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle from Zesty Edibles at Gympie. Poured a nice coppery colour unfortunately with very little aroma. Disappointing in that respect. However, was nice and hoppy with a nice bitter finish but I was hoping the Sauvin Hops would show forth a little more on the citrus taste side. Unfortunately no but still a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2013
330 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Clear amber colour; Half finger head and off white foam which last for 30 seconds; Good sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of sweet ale malt, with fresh grapefruit, orange blossoms, citrus, molasses, canned fruits, pine trees and faint grass; Mid to light sweet taste of ale malt, with grapefruit, citrus, pine, strong liquorices, strong lime and grass; Mid to light body, quite thin but slick palate; Mouth Feel is strong, soft-blow bitterness dominates, with moderate grapefruit took the backseat. Moderately malty and good piney in a rather thin but solid background; Hoppiness is fragrant grapefruits, orange blossoms, pine and lime in nose and taste, and a really strong but soft, un-German bitterness for a lasting finish; Quite dry after taste, limey and bitter to mouth.
Comments: A solid APA, and I was expecting more with the advertised American and NZ hops, but it wasn’t to be: fruity taste and aroma is modest, not mind blowing, and its body is a little thin. Still, it has a pretty sharp bitterness, and good piney nose and taste. Overhyped but still worth a try.

Smells very nice - piney and citrus. Tastes of hops and citrus. Very, very dry in a pleasant and drinkable way.
