500ml brown bottle. Deep golden-orange pour, clear. Big off white head. Nose has some sweet citrus, orangey. Taste has some malt sweetness, some hop fruitiness. Finishes with orange and grapefruity notes, trace of resin and some Nelson Sauvin character lingers as well. Dry end, grainy note, balanced bitterness. Medium body with medium carbonation. Very drinkable with a nice hop blend.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is mostly the hop character. There is some grassiness, lemon grass, earthiness and some yeast. Taste is a medium rich maltiness that is met with a somewhat potent bitterness. There is a tarty and straw-like bitterness that lingers. Appearance is a clear gold with a pearl bubbly head that retains fairly well.

30/IV/14 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 20/XI/14 (2014-449) Thanks to Liam for the bottle!
Clear orange beer, big irregular creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: some grains, hay, sweet ripe fruits, bubble gum, honey, sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, bit sweet, peaches, hint of banana, grains, bit caramely, malts. Aftertaste: some citrus, hoppy, piny notes, sweet and malty, some exotic fruits, nice hoppy ending. Very balanced, very nice beer. Coolest bottle ever! Mine was covered in relief resembling some lizard skin or something, really nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A great "standard" beer. This is my daily drink as it is available in 6 packs. It’s not overwhelming like others but a great beer to drink and enjoy when out without the extreme alcohol but still great taste. As far as the taste I’ll click the boxes: bread, resin, dough, grass, and these are all good things. I am in New Zealand so this is readily available and the one I always reach for.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle at Brasserie V. Unfiltered orange-tan. Thin, patchy, oily head. Very resinous and oily, not the crisp tropical beer I had hoped for. Not bad, but in line with a classic brewpub APA, just a hint of hop variation. A decent enough beer, but it fails to capitalize on the NZ hops. The resinous oily feel dominates. Maybe old?

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to tulip
Sweet citrus, grapefruit, flowers, caramel, some slight resin, and tropical fruit. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a 1.5 cm frothy and mottled off white head that lasts decently due to the vibrant effervescence. Eventually, when the head recedes, there’s small and spotty lacing. Taste is pepper, grapefruit, mango, papaya, and pine that ends in a long drawn out, but not harsh, bitterness. I’m liking this one.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Visual: Pours clear golden orange with a decent lasting small foamy head, sticky lacing, lots of activity.
Nose: sweet citrus hops, mild malts (lvl-5)-pungency
Attack: bitter citrus hops
Mid-palate: (lvl-5)-citrus/bitter sweetness, (MAIN) orange, sweet grapefruit bittersweet hops, yeasty malts
Finish: lingering grassy bitter hops, off-dry citrusy bitter sweetness.
Summary: A pale ale with a pronounced yet gently balanced hoppy-citrus bittersweet profile. Extremely drinkable, even as it warms. Recommended.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma is quite citric. Clear, amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is bitter, slightly malty, crisp citric hoppy together with other hoppy fruit tones. Good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #975 - February 13, 2014 - Aroma is a lemony grapey herbal volcano cone. Pours a good amber colour with a perfect sticky white foam, spotty lacing, decent retention. Medium carbonation, mild-medium alcohol warmth. Palate is a decent lemon grapefruit citrus hit, with some sticky pine resin notes, and a comfortable ABV - supah crushable. Very nice.
