2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1897) - Assat, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 31, 2013
Just woke up. Dammit. Gotta do a light speed review. Smelled okish but note its overly fruity and is missi g the spice. The Belg side exists in a dull state. This has qualities of a belg ale and qualities of a buch of other stuff just tossed in. Sure it works but so what. Lemon orange weak pepper, yeast, meh. Just a mixed up beer. Not a bad beer but one that doesn’t stick to a style well.
3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tonybaldeagle (29) - - FEB 9, 2013
A mature beer with a strong, pleasant, lingering palate. Whisky notes hint at the mid strength of this ale. I enjoy the subtle spicy taste and citrus flavours.

Golden with Belgian esters on the nose. Dry and fairly hot with higher alcohols on the nose and mouth. Lively carbonation. Not particularly clever.

Pours a clear golden yellow with small white head that amounts to a light white cover. Aromas of spice and sweet fruit. Flavours consist of spice, citrus bitterness, some maltiness and a touch of booze.

(330ml bottle) Purchased as part of a mixed Tuatara 6-pack for $22 at Cook Street Liquors. Quick dissipating white frothy head atop a clear amber body. Good yeast a citrus yet there is an odd milkiness throught the palate. Average.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 gramity (1054) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 29, 2012
Clear, pale golden with a dense, white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast and diacetyl. Medium body with accents of sweet fruit and yeast and a somewhat tired finish. Not exactly a thrilling Belgian style ale.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 WheatKing (703) - Oak Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 3, 2012
Some hops, aroma was pear and mandarin, taste was mild spiciness and unfortunately the malt was a bit sour. Finish was a bit creamy. Not as great as I was hoping for, no idea what happened to the malt here.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pintbypint (1973) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 7, 2012
330ml brown bottle. Clear gold pour, white head, light lace. Nose has light spice notes and mild sweet fruits. Taste has sweet malts, some fruitiness, citrus, light spice notes. Spicy yeast in the finish, light bitterness. Medium body with light carbonation. Not terribly complex, but a nice beer.

330ml bottle pours a golden color with a small white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is fruity with some citrus and yeast. Taste is fruity and grainy malt sweetness with a mild citrusy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with some decent carbonation. Overall, a decent Belgian ale that is quite tasty and recommended to try.

Bottle. Gold beer with thin head. Aroma is like a freshly cut peach or nectarine. Strong Belgian character and big fruit taste and a bit of bitterness. Nice palate cleansing refresher.
