3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In your face pilsner that deserves the accolades that have been bestowed on this refreshing drop. Marmalade bitterness with a lingering palate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 11.2 oz bottle from State Line, 2/11/13, Rating #2828, so nice I type it twice
Aroma: The nose is a little grassy, with some lemon zest, bready malts, and floral notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy gold-orange with a rather large froth of white head and plenty of lace
Flavor: Tastes a little sweet, with some clean pale malts, bread, and a grassy/floral hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it drinks kinda clean, with lively carbonation, and a light dryness
This one is a solid Pils, but it isn’t crisp and clean enough to be a top example of what I really look for in this style. Still though, there’s some nice stuff here and the malts and the hops work well together.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(330ml bottle) Mixed Tuatara 6-pack from Cook Street Liquor for $22. Pours a medium, white head atop a clear lightly carbonated head. Mild corn aroma. Good crispness and hoppy front , very chewy and grainy. I like this.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a golden yellow with a healthy white head that leaves some lace. Aromas of pale malt/straw, floral and clean. Flavours consist of spicy sazz bitterness with a crisp malty complexity. Quite refreshing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clean, crisp - nice floral nose, but a bit hidden - possibly from the distance/age of the bottle. Still had some nice subtleties to it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Every bit as good, or better, than a can of Urquel today. Crisp gold, thin head and faint lace. Light grassy hop aroma. Flavour was a nice up front hopiness, only slightly aggresive. Hops are present from start to stronger finish. Nice body and an easy drinker. Be easy to quaff a 6er.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a clear golden amber colour with a one-finger white foamy head that retained OK and laced OK. High carbonation (lots of fine bubble trails). Aroma of hops with a hint of lemon. Taste clean and crisp followed by hops bitterness and a slight citrus flavour. Medium to ligh body. Moderately long slightly bitter finish. More like a Pale Ale.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A delightfully quaffable devil of a brew this one turned out to be and yet another tick on the board of lagers coming out of the micro’s of NZ at the moment. It produced up a satin sheened, yellow gold, just off bright, with high effervescence and a compact, tight white crown. Juicy, fruity burst wafts from the glass reminiscent of passionfruit, pineapple, lychee and sauvignon wine with underlying notes of pine needs, black pepper and rose petals. Soft, creamy mouthfeel with just a little spritz upfront. Light, well rounded and wonderfully hoppy throughout with just enough malt flavour to let its presence known. Spicy, floral, herbal and piney backend with a lasting bitterness to the swallow. Juicy fruit esters, like in the aroma, are the star here though. It is notably vinous with a quenching citrus tang and sourness, and supple passion/pine/lychee blend that linger long in amongst the herbal and floral hops. These Motueka Saaz hops are fantastic and this beer brilliantly showcases them. I loved this one. Everything works so harmoniously. This is one to definitely hunt down again. A killer of a Summer Pilsener!!! (33cL, BB 20/09/12, Freo Doctor, Fremantle)

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 Too good to be just Saaz hops. Such a fruity, grapey, aroma, true dessert wine. Really Saaz? Hard to believe. But do not mistake me: the beer is fabulous! Looks great, light, lemoney gold with a decent white head, almost creamy. Crisp and bitter, hoppy, fruity and floral, all balanced by a very light touch of maltiness that never makes it mellow. It is bitter, and bloody pleasant! The finish is a bit acidic, metallic, but i’m being too hard on this great beer. Not a perfect Bohemiam Pilsener, but better!
