4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice pour, ample amounts of creamy head which gives off a great aroma - lots of hops, hints of pine and tropical fruits as well. Taste is smooth, not as hoppy as I expected with a caramel after taste - very drinkable, I had the whole 500ml bottle comfortably in less than an hour, pretty good for 9%.
Great beer, has become a favorite after one session.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden clear body complete with a tall pillowy cap. The 3D on the lable is old school 80ís cereal box prize quality, but the gimmick did work on me because the 3D glasses hanging around the neck was the only reason I baught this. Uggggg....... first sip aint good. What was that??? Strong soapy hops with a chemical quality. Hints of chocolate also permiate the aroma. Taste is the same but has a wicked strong bitter finish. Woody chocolate, floral hops, leather. Fun lable surounding a bottle containing a subpar IIPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smells of tropical fruits and resionous pine. Thick in the mouth, almost syrupy, with caramel, honey and the aforementioned fruit. A lingering bitterness that is welcome and warm, with some booze folded into it,

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver
Cloudy golden color with generous compact head. The aroma is very fruity, peach and mango. The body is not too thick, the mouthfeel is round, it has a nice malt base, moderately sweet, and good hopping, for once the hopping is more fruity than resiny.

Aroma is grapefruit, passionfruit, citrus, lemon grass and light sweet malts. Taste is light malts, met fairly quickly with bitter clove and tanin. bitterness isnt excessive and finishes surprisingly smooth. Appearance is a clear gold with a pearl head that retains fairly well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2015 An amazing creation from Tuatara right here. A very easy to drink and beautifully balanced IPA which hides its high alcohol content dangerously well. The malt and hop profile sing a sweet harmony together. Flavours of peach and apricot are lifted by subtle citrus/pineapple notes that lead to a thoroughly exotic and refreshing experience. A modern day classic.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Out the bottle and into a chalice, at just on cool. Oh, it looks damn good. Fluffy and silky looking inch of white atop a sparkling, vibrant, orange amber body. Head holds fast and weaves a drabby, thick lace. Piney, deep, resinous, fruity hop nose; jammy, plummy with a lot of stonefruit and sticky conserve notes. Quite full, rounded, all-encompassing on the palate. Nicely low in carbonation to see it dwell on the tongue letting all the flavour and aroma permeate into every nook and cranny. Stonefruit dominates here too. Not overly sweet; quite ripe and fruity with a tangy mid-palate and a bitter, all hop swallow. Good length; again like peach, apricot and plums with plenty of grapefruit to fill it out. Biscuity malt underneath with a grainy, granola edge; balances in well. Alcohol has warmth but under the weight of the fruit and malt ties in really nicely. This is delicious. Not farfetched or over-the-top, just a great IIPA. Another gem from this brewer!!! 4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This beer is crazy, itís like two drinks in one. the initial taste versus what rests on your palate a second or two later is black versus white. Amazing job Tuatara, an inspiration to any home brewer who is after something special.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle from Super merkato. On opening 30mm bubble sat on rim with lacing rising up around circumference of bubble, like some sort of anti gravity machine. heady stuff! Aroma was more balanced than expected - i was expecting hop assault (perhaps I am gaining immunity?). pine, resin, grass all present. Less of the fruit. Malt, alcohol and hops in a fair fight with none dominating - so there was more malt characteristics than expected - caramel & banana being the most obvious for me. Not as bitter as IBU indicated (167?!). Right up with C!tra (hope I spell correctly) as NZís top IIPA in my íumple opinion.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear medium gold with a loose white two finger head diminishing gradually to a thin cap and heavy sticky lacing. Nose is powerfully hoppy - dank, sticky, and resiny, with some floral tones, yet with a noticeable caramel malt base. Taste is grapefruit and pine, but balanced with light sweet malt. Medium body, slippery and sticky, with sustained moderate carbonation and a long, lingering bitter finish.
Woof. Nearly eye-watering hops when I cracked the bottle. A definite hop bomb palate wrecker. If this is after age degradation, I hesitate to think what this beast was when fresh. Though, for all that, I donít find its 167 (!) IBUís "brutal" as the label claims, but itís definitely in your face.
