COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Calling Double Trouble a "hop showcase" might imply that this brutal 167 IBU monster has your best interests at heart. If your answer to the question, "How much hopping would you like?" is simply "more", this is what you wish for. The malt base and Chico yeast together construct the perfect platform for the multiple additions of so many hop varieties no mere beer label could label them all. Your overwhelmed taste buds will know the feeling.

And surprise you can smell the hops and the bitterness they promise in spades. The beer is pale golden beer colour and a decent off orange head. Very grassy on the nose, nice carbonation, but, a fairly muted bitterness received, compared to what I expected. Iím getting a citrus tone in this as well, I could be making it up to impress you I know what Iím tasting of course, but I spy grapefruit and orange. This is a bit of a nice thing, very difficult to deny itís bitter, but itís not grimace bitter it more a wry smile bitter, cunning bastards!

Poured from 650mL bottle [bb 14/05/2016]. Clear, golden orange with off-white head. Pine, resin, and citrus hops with a very light background caramel malt. Didnít seem all that complex - Based on the bb date and average ratings maybe I should have aged it a bit? The IBU doesnít show through too much either.

Bottle from Stewarts Wine Company January 2014. This beer will make you see double if you drink enough of it. Overdose of hops make this a wonderful looking, smelling and tasting beer.

Appearance: (poured into tulip glass) pours a loose 3 finger white head that slowly settles down to 1 finger with plenty of lacing, body; clear amber-orange, noticeably heavily carbonated. Aroma: Grapefruit, apricot, pine, malt, rich grapes, fresh hops, citrus, lemon curd, caramel, resin, bread, tropical fruits, mango. Palate: Medium-full body, rather highly carbonated. Taste: Resin, hops, bitterness, hints of dark chocolate bitterness, caramel, malt, pine, fresh grass, sharp citrus, long lasting bitterness on the finish. Overall: Very nice balanced hoppy beer, well worth trying if you can.

Earplay (35) - NEW ZEALAND - NOV 17, 2014
Strong balanced aroma of citrus, floral hops and sweet caramel malt. Mouthfeel is full bodied. Taste is predominantly sweet malt, slightly cloying, with spicy lingering bitterness. Hint of alcohol. Overall an incredibly full flavoured drop, possibly a little reduction in the sweetness and body would make more enjoyable.

Poured from a large format bottle, Thanks Ryan. Big hop character, tropical fruits, citrusy, resinous, grassy. Some bready malts, but the hops are center stage.

Nice pour, ample amounts of creamy head which gives off a great aroma - lots of hops, hints of pine and tropical fruits as well. Taste is smooth, not as hoppy as I expected with a caramel after taste - very drinkable, I had the whole 500ml bottle comfortably in less than an hour, pretty good for 9%. Great beer, has become a favorite after one session.

Cirrhosis (1232) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 28, 2014
Golden clear body complete with a tall pillowy cap. The 3D on the lable is old school 80ís cereal box prize quality, but the gimmick did work on me because the 3D glasses hanging around the neck was the only reason I baught this. Uggggg....... first sip aint good. What was that??? Strong soapy hops with a chemical quality. Hints of chocolate also permiate the aroma. Taste is the same but has a wicked strong bitter finish. Woody chocolate, floral hops, leather. Fun lable surounding a bottle containing a subpar IIPA.

hank37 (126) - banksia grove, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2014
Smells of tropical fruits and resionous pine. Thick in the mouth, almost syrupy, with caramel, honey and the aforementioned fruit. A lingering bitterness that is welcome and warm, with some booze folded into it,

Bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver
Cloudy golden color with generous compact head. The aroma is very fruity, peach and mango. The body is not too thick, the mouthfeel is round, it has a nice malt base, moderately sweet, and good hopping, for once the hopping is more fruity than resiny.
Lovely, dangerous.

Aroma is grapefruit, passionfruit, citrus, lemon grass and light sweet malts. Taste is light malts, met fairly quickly with bitter clove and tanin. bitterness isnt excessive and finishes surprisingly smooth. Appearance is a clear gold with a pearl head that retains fairly well.
