4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
And surprise you can smell the hops and the bitterness they promise in spades. The beer is pale golden beer colour and a decent off orange head. Very grassy on the nose, nice carbonation, but, a fairly muted bitterness received, compared to what I expected. I’m getting a citrus tone in this as well, I could be making it up to impress you I know what I’m tasting of course, but I spy grapefruit and orange.
This is a bit of a nice thing, very difficult to deny it’s bitter, but it’s not grimace bitter it more a wry smile bitter, cunning bastards!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Craft Beer Rising (London, 19 February 2015)
Shows a cloudy whiskey brown.
The nose shows mostly a lot of sweet malts with some notes of resinous pine and cannabis in the background.
The palate shows very light carbonation, a slight spiciness & heat in the middle, a very good malt back bone and a moderate to high bitterness.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle from New World Fendalton, Christchurch. Pours amber with a small head. Impressive sweet nose, foreshadowing what the gums and the tongue will get to taste... Rich, full taste. Sweet, a bit of fruit, hiding the 167 IBU until the very end of the lasting finish where the bitterness for a moment says "Hi, I’m here as well" and disappears again. Very tasty.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Punch-in-the-nose aroma, resin, floral, citrus. Hops to die for. The taste was a little thick and salty for a perfect rating, but was a complex and rewarding drink. Best shared.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 650mL bottle [bb 14/05/2016]. Clear, golden orange with off-white head. Pine, resin, and citrus hops with a very light background caramel malt. Didn’t seem all that complex - Based on the bb date and average ratings maybe I should have aged it a bit? The IBU doesn’t show through too much either.
