Nothing out of the ordinary here. Hi fizz style with relatively subtle spice, banana and clove. Hard to get int the beer such is the impact of the fizz. Finish is a little sticky ahla Asahi. Much much better options from Germany at the price.

Draft at Galbraith Alehouse in Auckland. Pours a hazy gold with a fairly large frothy white head. Aroma of banana, clove, wheat, yeast, malt, lemon citrus and a dash of vanilla. Flavor is incredibly consistent with the nose. Smooth, medium-full-bodied, sweet, satisfying, and easy to drink. Nice hefeweizen overall.

1.25L rigger from Regionals. Pours hazy golden, white head.

The aroma is dominated by banana esters, bubblegum - and a hint of citrus. Caramel malt aroma sits in the background.

Flavour is much the same as the aroma, caramelised bananas, clove and bubblegum dominate the mouth. It is somwhat sweet, which takes away from its palatability. I get a bit of booze, at the end, but otherwise quite a nice brew.

A wonderful drop. Poured from the taps at Regionals. Instantly hit with the beautiful fragrance. With my nose sitting 20cm above the glass there is nothing but the smell of sweet bananas and bubble gum wafting upwards. Lovely bright colour with a slight cloud. Taste wasn’t as intense as i thought it would be but still top notch.

This hefe oozes all the classic characteristics that wheat beers have. Lovely bubble-gum, banana and cloves aromas and flavours It is a good looking pint too, with its lovely fluffy head and sexy bright yellow pour. I have no trouble in recommending this beer to friends and the family of my girlfriend (my own family are addicted to stout). Good publicity locally hasn’t hurt it either.

Draught. Pours slightly hazy with a frothy white head. Wheat, banana and clove. The mouthfeel is smooth and I liked the spicy notes here. A decent attempt at the style, which usually fails dismally in the South Pacific.

...again, bottle from the wonderful Purvis Cellars. Didn’t pour, and commited the Blasphemy of drinking a Hef out of the bottle, but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, liked the creamyness of this brew. Nice wheat and yeast flavors, with a good balance of spicy clove, fruitiness, citrus hints and some tartness at the finish. Over, a breat brew, those guys over there know how to brew the tough styles. Definitely a must try, I was surprised
