3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml brown bottle. Labelled as "India Pale Ale". Deep golden colour, Big creamy white cap, sticky lace. Nose has strong malt, toffee notes. Taste has toffee malts, notes of straw and grass. Finishes with grassy hops, late citrus peel. Aftertaste has sweet malts, straw, grains and mild lingering bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation and mouthfeel. An ok beer, tasting more like an ESB though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Rakuten, it poured a deep copper-amber pour with a thick fluffy head & a luscious floral hop aroma with hints of fruitiness and dank resinous hop notes. Medium bodied with a lightly scratchy carbonation this IPA tastes lightly bitter with pine, resin & a certain fruity quality to it. Really tasty stuff, a great easy drinking fairly sessionable IPA. Nothing extraordinary but quite solid.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml brown reptilian bottle purchased and consumed in Wellington, NZ. BB date of July 2014.
Pours deep amber with a bubbly bone-colored head. Good lacing.
A light IPA featuring NZ hops, with an aromatic herbal nose but with the hop power of a slightly aggressive APA. Long lasting hoppy aftertaste. Appropriate malts for balance.
Feel: medium body; smooth; excellent, soft carbonation.
O: a weak version of the Tuatara APA, which I had immediately before this ale.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
From bottle. Clear amber brown, gassy with a tall head. Vibrant acid and crunchy dog food malt with dusty and stale bread crust, little hop aroma, low bitterness, basic caramel malt core. Nutty, dusty / powdery flour grittiness... it doesn’t seem oxidized at all but definitely seems dull and stale in the nose and flavor. Quite disappointing after finding the Helles pleasant.

Amber pour with long lasting head. Biscuit and honey aroma with a little weird funkiness. Biscuity malt flavour, some citrus and a little bitterness - nice example of an English IPA

The head is good, the body orange-brown. It smells hoparomatic, flowery, bit fruity, hoppy. The taste is bitter, aromatic, fruity, bit malty. Nice

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Peculier Pub, NYC bottle ($7): Pours amber with off-white head. Aroma is honey, malt, and a bit of hops. Taste is a light amount of bitterness. Some honey sweetness. Loads of biscuit and chewy malts. Easy to drink and sessionable. Very English IPA style. For Americans on either coast, this is pretty light stuff. Not bad though.
