330ml brown bottle. Deep brown in colour, red highlights. Tan head, a few random spots of lace. Nose has dark chocolate and roasted notes, a little sweetness. Taste has roasted and chocolate malt, notes of caramel, dark cherry. Finishes with roasty bitterness and light hops. Medium body with decent carbonation. A nice porter overall.

Porter’s for me are a time and a place beer. It is not a summer beer nor a beer I can drink all night. Also If I can get Fuller’s London Porter then everything else is an also ran. This however is not bad. I had this in a tiny pub in Taipei near Le-li road down a back street. The body is quite light for a Porter. Nose is coffee, milk chocolate and maybe burnt toast. More carbonation than I expected and a little drier. But that said it had some good crisp dark flavours...such as chocolate and malt. Finish was dry and clean. Very good beer.

Bottle. Black with a lovely chocolate like flavour. Hops in background make it feel like a dark IPA rather than an IPA. Nevertheless this is an excellent beer and easily the best I have tried so far from this brewery.

It’s not what you’d call full bodied, but there is a vast array of aromas, and quite the thing of flavours in this, and it ends up being very drinkable. I got a milky chocolate aroma on opening, then I got smoky bitterness and some tartness, the taste was lightly bitter, some fruit thing not a big finish but I did drink it double quick. Nice really.

Bottle from St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, slightly bitter. It is decent enough but not worth sending half way around the world when we have fantastic Kernel porters to hand.

500ml bottle pours a black color with a lot of frothy head. Lots of roasted malt. The roastiness is a little harsh against the hops.

Bottle; sourced from Hop Burns and Black shared with Clayfiish. Black colour. Baige lacing. Grains, leather, must, male husky perfume, farmyard wood. Taste is blackcurrants, licorice, leather, chocolate, some good hops. Nice but not amazing.

Pours black with a moderate white head. Faint chocolate aroma. Mild chocolate flavor. This would probably be decent on cask. Doesn’t hold up as well in the bottle.
