It’s dark here so I’ll just say that this beer is a bright blue and iridescent rainbow glitter mix. Heavy roasted smell, hint of smoke or tobacco, light fruit, salt, I let this sit and it morphed into a wonderful sweet medium chocolate aroma - cool. The taste is all over the place pleasing with a huge change from finish to end. Bitter choco, good tasting roast, somewhat lengthy bitterness on the back end, ashy and a bit burnt on the finish - wonderful breath. Fine brew!

Black, mahogany tinge, large head that settles quickly. Smells..malt, cocoa, slight hints of dark fruit, roasted grain and coffee. Tastes..quite malty, some hops and fruit, roasted grain, some coffee and bitterness. More tasty as it warms.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tonybaldeagle (29) - - FEB 9, 2013
Dark and chocolatey with a tart bite which mellows as it warms. Hints of coffee and cola makes this a very pleasant drink. Has the usual Tuatara dry palate.

Ruby tinged dark brown with slight white head. Chocolate, red berries and caramel on the nose. Fairly dry with smoky malt and same flavours as aroma. Long fruity malt finish. A good beer.

Hand pumped at my old local. Poored a deep black, warm, flavour of a some kind of roasty warm beer milk shake. Really smooth with a slight smokiness.

330ml bottle) Part of the Tuatara 6-pack. Pours a thin white frothy and black body. Nose of coffee grinds. Somewhat thin but the flavour is pretty full; mix of cocoa powder and bitter coffee. This is definitely the tastious of the 6-pack which was disappointing.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 andrewturba (456) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2012
Pours a very dark brown/black with just a little light coming through with nice light brown head that results in a light covering lacing the glass quite nicely. Aromas consist of chocolate, roasted malt, and light coffee notes. Flavours are roasted malts, chocolate, some sweetness turns bitter through the finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 gramity (1055) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 27, 2012
Dark body with light brown head. Light milky chocolate aroma but the taste is more of roasted bitterness and less of the chocolate, more of a robust style where there is more of a roasted bitterness coming through than the chocolate notes that I expect.

It’s quite pleasant, but I would not call it a London Porter. Certainly it has its character, and kudos for that. Dark russet, brown, with an off-white reasonable head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, chocolates...AND a leathery touch, perhaps olives. Too pungent for a London Porter, in my opinion. I like the flavour, not too coffeeish, but nice and charred, with some chocolate and hardly any fruits. Cannot detect the particular NZ hoppiness, but it has a rather nice, bitter finish. As an enthusiast of Porters, I can have it again, certainly, but not over a mellower true London Porter.
