Storm (2683), Amager, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Blind tasting at Papsoe’s. Reddish brown colour with a little head. Light aroma of malt, roastedness, and chocolate. Flavour of hops, citrus, and some roastedness. Ends up a little metalic.
DougShoemaker (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2008 Mild aroma of chocolate, some malt also, dark brown, sporting a tiny toffee head. Taste is a milder chocolate than the nose, some malt notes too. Light bodied, slighly sweet, a good beer. Thank You Ron. kempicus (192), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 12, 2008 Tasted on beer engine at the malthouse, lighter in colour than i’d attribute to a porter more like a medium ruby than anything else, that said it’s got a good fruity aroma but lacks a bit of body, not a bad drop but i’ve had it in much better condition before. Alasdair (18), New Zealand Aug 27, 2008 rich malt aroma - chocolate, and roast, with a hint of tobacco? Long-lasting off-white head; black with ruby highlights. Inital caramel taste, and then a bittersweet roastiness with a gentle hop bitteness. I get an an acrid aftertaste, which gets worse the further down the glass I get. Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 2, 2008 Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin lazing tan head. The aroma is sweet and very roasted combined with notes of pumpernickel bread as well as hints of brewmash. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel and toffee as well as a light notes of metal from the alcohol, leading to a dry bitter and slightly roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe for hauling this home from NZ. KimJohansen (4285), Copenhagen V, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Dark brown with medium beige head. Sweet aroma with week notes of roasted malt and caramel. Sweet malty flavor with mild caramel note.
