Nothing much on the nose but the flavours are great, ha an interesting nuttiness! It’s crisp and refreshing with a good finishing bitterness that is drying and invites further imbibing. Another great pilsner from an NZ brewery! jimthechap (174), Christchurch, New Zealand

I have had this beer many times but not as Fresh as this one. Not only is it fresh but also has many layers. I am actually quite stunned as I was expecting quite less.
Citrus and berry hop aroma, but also sweet like passion fruit with a hint of Pinot Gris. A very balanced body with clean crisp bitterness and a lingering hop flavour same as the aroma.
I would be surprised if the flavour was really coming solely from Czech hops though and suspect that NZ Saaz B and D have been slipped in there at some stage... Still a fine drop! beerledgend (919), Meadowbank Auckland, New Zealand

One could go on about NZ Saaz hops but this is a tradional pilsner style. eczematic (1198), Sydney, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2004 original and well made stuff. the aroma is pure NZ saazy stuff, passiona to the max. good czech style malty, firm malt body without the graininess that you sometimes get with german ones, along with slight munich nuttiness. big flowery hop flavour, passionfruity at first, then getting more peppery and bitter as you swallow. the soft maltiness keeps up with the hops all the way through the finish.
