Editor’s note: sold in the US as Tuborg Premium Lager.

English: Tuborg Guld has always been attractive to lovely girls. As an example can it be said that at Gold-Girl was united with the marketing of Guld Tuborg already in the sixties. A beer with a sharp edge, which is characterized by its golden colour and its powerful taste. Cheers!

Pours a golden color, clear, with quite some carbonation and medium white head that quickly diminishes. Basic malty aroma, some grassy notes in there too. Taste is sweet and malty, some grains, with mild bitterness in the end. Crisp, refreshing. Not bad at all.

Standard grassy malt aroma. Actually not all bad. A mild grass straw taste, tingly malt, crisp. Maybe I got a fresh one?

Classic Danish ’luxe pils’ which became very popular in Belgium in the seventies but has lost much of its followers since then, at least in this country. Typical golden blonde with thinnish, snow white head; pale malts, light, one-dimensional with sharpish but brief, spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Okay but not worth the hype it experienced back in the seventies.

Pours a clear straw colour, with a thin white head. Aroma includes notes of apple, caramal, sweet malts. Tasting notes include apple peel, light malts, and a slight bitter finish. Decent lager, but not outstanding either.

Stockholm airport on the way back to Brussels from Norway. Ok lager but I liked Green better. I guess it didn’t help that the airport lounge fridge was barely working so these were on the warm side...but that’s Europe for you as well.

Can from Danish supermarket, 0.33l, 5.6% as "Guld Tuborg", avertised on the bottle as a strong pilsner ("stærk pilsner"). Pours clear pale yellow with a fizzy white head that persists in a thin layer. Some lacing. Aroma is light with malts and some yeast fruitiness. Literally no bitterness, sweet. Syrupy, soft carbonation, extremely smooth, or more precisely bland. Is this a beer or a fruit syrup? Certainly not a strong pilsner!
