COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: sold in the US as Tuborg Premium Lager.

English: Tuborg Guld has always been attractive to lovely girls. As an example can it be said that at Gold-Girl was united with the marketing of Guld Tuborg already in the sixties. A beer with a sharp edge, which is characterized by its golden colour and its powerful taste. Cheers!

(on can) "WHAT; you are rating a beer from a can....." Yeah, the brewery thinks that the product is so good it can be dranken from a piece of metal, ´cause I rate canned beer. Anyways, trying to get the most of it, I kept this brew at a 24 degrees Celsius. Quite sweet nose, honey and corn. Watery mouth and a slight finish of hops and..............................water. Can´t belive that they dare call this "The Golden Lady", what a disgrace for the women around the table.

Very light golden apearance, soapy white head, decent lacing. Saaz induced hoppy aroma. Thin mouthfeel. Quechable cheap lager flavor with a bit of a hoppy back end. Would do in a pinch if nothing else available. Served in a 16 oz Green Can labeled Gold Label Beer - Tuborg Bierre de Luxe.

Grainy lager aroma. Standard urine color. I guess I’m rating the right beer- this one was a 16-oz can "Gold Label" from Toronto. Tinny, tart, then sweetish, starchy and generally vacant. Clingy bitter finish. Bleh.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (bread, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), hints of DMS and solvent. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. You could do much worse in this field of beers, let me tell ya. This is clean enough in both aroma in finish to drink without wincing, and is balanced just fine. The aroma isn’t very strong, and it does have a faint waft of industry about it (mostly after it has warmed, so it may not be noticeable at normal serving temp), but it smells like real barley malt was used and the hops are pleasant. Quite drinkable, surprisingly.

Bottle in Tomsk, Siberia. Not a bad lager, just not much going for it. Tastes of more malt than most lagers I’ve had here, but lacks body and depth. Where are the hints of hops?

One of the very few drinkable Tuborgs. Malty and round in taste. A hint of sweetness and a decent finish.

This is is a very average, yet very drinkable beer. Has some skunky qualities, yet the taste is very clean and malty. Would make a very drinkable session beer.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2006 Draft, St. Petersburg Russia. Am I being too hard on these pale lagers? After all, they are nothing more than the style dictates. But I’ve still had micro pale pilsners that blow these international "premiums" away. Alright, this is immediately paler and less malty than the Lapin Kulta I just had, but there’s a certain smoothness of character that must be acknowledged. It does seem free of the adjunct and addictives of an American macro, and it has a nice lacy foam and plays well in a flute glass, and when I set the glass down, it kicks out an attractive stream of bubbles. But while it has nice sensory character, it’s still just "beer" taste.
