Pours a Coca-Cola brown. Creamy palate. Sweet, malty flavor. Somewhat fruity aspect, perhaps plum and cherry. Alcohol well hidden. Very slight, late on the palate, roasted flavor. Strong malty aroma with scent of dark fruits. Don’t know what took me so long to try this DBock.

Bottled. Mahogany colour, clear, brief head. Sweet and bready with rounded sticky mouthfeel. Flavours of syrupy dough, red apples, molasses and cardamom. Drier finish with a touch of metal. Being strangelyunrefined for a German beer it fails to lift. I guess Oetker takeovers are bad news for the quality...

Bottled (Thanks DerDoppelbock). Reddish amber colour, medium head, which vanishes quite fast. Aroma is big time caramel malts and some slight alcoholic kick. Flavour is malt, some slight alcohol in background. Slightly sticky palate, but very refreshing.

500ml bottle. pours very dark reddish-brown with off white head. nose is toasted nuts and bread, with raisins. flavor is sweet caramel and nuts with hints of maple syrup but middle and finish is extremely drying with an odd musty flavor. alc. well hidden. mouthfeel is good. carb. smooth. the dry and musty notes are odd but this is actually a tasty german doppelbock.

Bottle thanks to Sebastian. Pours dark brown with a small disappaiting head. Malty, chocolate nose. Tastes of alcohol, malts, sweetish, and is full-bodied. Nice all the way down. Well done.

Bottle... Clear mahogany lager with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Nose of dark raisins, light molassess and Fig Newtons®. Understated, brothy flavor with biscuit and dark fruit notes... mainly bland, though. Medium-bodied with pillow-soft carbonation. Lightly sweet, maple finish.
