BeerGuyTWMore (48), USA Jun 18, 2009 Very impressed...poured out of a bottle into a weizen glass at Indigo downtown. Dark brown with tan thick lacing head. choco-toffee aromas with malt and alcohol. Aromas tranfer to taste with the addition of mollases and slight hop bitterness. Alittle too sweet to be my favorite but overall pretty balanced. very enjoyable and only takes two to get a good buzz Ughsmash (3982), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 24, 2009 Pint bottle. Poured clear iced tea brown with a huge initial cap of beige head that settled down to a fine layer. The aroma picked up grainy, gritty aged caramel with accents of cocoa.. sweetened up on the back, picking up a bit of vanilla. The flavor had sweeter caramel joined by molasses and some vanilla.. touches of smoke and earth accented.. short-medium length finish was dry and malty. Medium-bodied, sweet, and lightly spicy on the palate.. not terribly complex, but it sure hit the spot. armando629 (956), Budapest, Hungary May 22, 2009 0,5 l bottle as a gift. Nice deep ruby body with a foamy beige lacing head. Rich aroma with a ton of roasted malt, vanilla, toasty caramel, some liqueric fruity perfume of plum and raisins. Rich body with flavor of roasted malt, toasty caramel, vanilla and cinnamon, some liqueric body of plum and raisins. Nice liqueric and roasted aftertaste. TaxiDriver (910), Stadland, Germany May 19, 2009 Bottle. A malty aroma, bitter chocolate and light alcoholic. The head is rather small, creamy-foamy and beige with a short duration. The body is dark red. The taste reminds me of licorice, dark malt, light bitter. The body is medium strong, light oily and with a normal carbonation. zvikar (414), Tel-Aviv, Israel May 8, 2009 Dark redissh color with nice beige head, aroma of mushroom, soy sauce, sweet caramel and metal, flavor of burnt caramel, soy sauce, texture is velvety and zesty on the tongue, finish is bitter with some deep clove and sweet caramel. Nice Rustyham (552), miami, Florida, USA Apr 2, 2009 A sweet, sugary flavor is added to a ver caustic beer. It feels like they added cologne to this. I am not a fan. satan165 (542), River Grove, Illinois, USA Mar 26, 2009 appearance is ruddy chocolate. nose of light cocoa and small toffee malt. flavor of sweet alcohol that fades on the palate after a few sips. malt is prevelant but mostly balanced. palate is very slick and coating. overall this is well enjoyable despite my own aversions to the style, quite well put together. Block (363), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 28, 2009 Brown pour with a white head. Aroma of caramel and some roasted malts. Flavor is the same, mostly caramel, with some alcohol at the finish.
