Strong malty nose with caramel and a hint of dried fruits. Gentle and smooth sweet flavour, well-rounded with its roastmalty taste and the chocolate-like bitter finish with length. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Nice and full-bodied, with hints of nut, roasted malt, and a touch of molasses. Palate is a bit thin, but I’ll forgive it. Nice alcohol bite keeps you from chugging it too fast; take your time and enjoy this one. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2005 Pours out a nice evern mahoganey brown. Very clear, as a lager should be. A gorgeous sticky head forms and sits atop the beer until the end. Nice subdued malt, balanced by a nice subdued hop. The beer almost feels heavy in the glass, maybe it sounds crazy but you can taste the high gravity. It’s really unlike most high gravity beer I taste b/c the good ones balance it all out. Not really that much of an exciting Doppelbock, certainly not in the same class as Celebrator. But for what it is, and what they’re charging for it, it’s incredible. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2005 Poured a clear dark brown. Aroma was fruity and sweet. Flavor was very fruity, dark fruits with a nice sweetness. Bitter finish and medium body. There was a lot of flavor but it wasn’t very filling so you can drink a few of these. Very nice. badgerben (3596), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2005 Brown color with a medium head. Aromas of malt and toasted bread. It’s a bitter and dry doppelbock, which surprised me. More malt with an almost bacon-esque finish. The alcohol certainly rears its head. This was a nice treat! jasonp (1509), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Aroma of roastiness, dust and smoke. Flavor has notes of caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, nuts, salt, peat/smoke and a hint of chocolate. Pleasantly sweet and very malty. Full, thick and creamy on the palate with lively carbonation. No lacing or head retention. I enjoyed this one. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
