Deep reddish brown body, small light tan head. Flavor is delightfully balanced, sweet malt and fruity, without being syrupy. Just the right level of carbonation. A really nice Doppel. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 20, 2009 Raisan and toffee auroma. nice malty sweetness rich and very veven taste. But not alot of personality. AR (417), Georgia, USA Jan 11, 2009 A good doppelbock is never a disappointment. The Bajuvator is a full-bodied beer that fulfills the palate. The flavor has a malty sweetness that has bread-like quality, similar to a cinnamon roll. BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Jan 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to hopscotch. Pours with a light, off-white head that fades, and leaves weakish lacing over the muddy amber brown body. Aroma of raisins, currants, toffee, soy, unami. Taste is toffee, caramel, bread, with some nuts, rotting fruit and licorice. Finishes pretty sweet. Syrupy mouthfeel with light carbonation and decently well hidden alcohol. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, rather dark brown body with a frothy, ivory-colored head.
Smell: Sweet and fruity nose smelling of dark, bready, lightly roasted malts and plenty of brandy-coated prunes and dates.
Taste: Sweet maltiness tasting of brown sugar, light chocolate, and homemade raisin cookies. It’s plenty fruity throughout. Beyond the raisins, you get prunes, dates, and a bit of dried black cherry. Slight hop bitterness. Splash of root beer. Peppery alcohol component. Final flavors of fruit and molasses on the somewhat drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Very mild creaminess to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A quality, highly drinkable doppelbock. One of the more enjoyable "ators" I’ve had.
