Jan 3, 2004 Nice head and nice dark coloration.Does not have a strong alcohol taste which was surprising,actually quite light compared to other doppelbocks.

Dec 14, 2003 Malty molasses aroma.dark crimson brown appearance with light brown head.Malty banana flavor with some hop balance.Slightly oily texture with mild chocolate butterscotch flavors.Mild metallic hop finish.Hides it's alcohol well.

Nov 24, 2003 Very dark amber with a big tan head. Aroma of raisons and toffee. Flavor of raisons, toffee and caramel. Thinner bodied and not as sweet as most doppelbocks. I like it.

Nov 15, 2003 Nice dark brown color with a tanish head. I love the aroma on this beer. It is malty and has a bit of fruit smell/taste. Good stuff.

Oct 6, 2003 Dark brown in colour with a nice dense tan head. Aroma of malt, a slight fruityness and strong alocohol. Full to Medium-bodied; Strong alcoholic flavour initially with hints of dark pit fruit fading to just a malt background. Aftertaste turns watery quick and then fades off the palate with only a subtle amount of spice to back things up. Overall, this is about what I'd expect a doppelbock to be, true to the style, with no frills. Fairly good, worth trying as long as you've had Ayinger before :-). I bought this pint bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

Sep 16, 2003 Dissapointing for a Double bock. Maybe the beer was old or mistreated or something, but it had a slightly funny off flavor and aroma. I know that the Bar at which it was puchased just got it in, so who knows? Otherwise, seems to be a to be a malty typical DB.

Sep 9, 2003 Doppelbock's are fun, especially with a name like "Bajuvator." Could be better, but it's a really good beer. It has a nice not-too-syrupy feel with a touch of fruit (sweet) and nut (earthy) that tickles me noise as i bring my glass up to take another drink... and then my tongue. Nice. Not entirely my "thing" though and I wish i could leave my empty glass with more of a creamy-nut taste than the bubbly dance of "empty" tease that it left me. So, that means I wish I had more than one.

Sep 5, 2003 Beatiful burgundy hue with brown/tan, lacing head. Wonderful fruity aroma with a breadiness to it. The flavour is a bit of a let down after the appearance and aroma. A dry bitterness prevails and there is little of the complex malt and yeast character that I was expecting. The palate is much thinner than expected and the finish proves to be watery and empty.
