Nice DB aroma with nuts and fine caramel, mild licorice also present. Medium bodied. Flavor is even more doppelbockish with nice nuts here, mild alcohol nicely in warming aftertaste. Somehow cardboardy aftertaste with nuts and licorice still. How can anybody not like these -ators. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA

Tastes of sweet carmel. Very smooth aftertaste with very carbonation. Alcohol prevalent in every taste. Overall not a bad Doppelbock. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 7, 2008 Nice dark carmel color and intense carmel and malt aroma. Very smooth, pleasant flavor to match. Kind of sweat with just a touch of alcohol. Has a hard to describe quality of smoothness and control that speaks to, well, high quality. Ends in a kind of malty chocolate coffee flavor that lingers and is very nice. I really need to serve this one to friends. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

As I recall, this was a nice creamy doppelbock, but not the best I’ve ever tasted. bhensonb (4245), Woodland, California, USA

Strong caramel aroma that’s a bit vinous. Very pleasant. The tan head didn’t stay long. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is dark caramel, and there is a tar note. Finish is mildly sweet with dark caramel. Bitter does come forth at the finish, and it doesn’t end overly sweet. Sweet, though. Pretty good beer with some unique taste notes. killedge (26), Miami, Florida, USA

Very sweet palate- not a hop in sight. Creamy mouthfeel, rich and heavy. Flavor of malt, caramel- almost like homebrewed wort it’s that sweet. Just a touch of bitterness right at the end keeps it from going over the top with sweetness. Overall I have to say I enjoyed it. KimJohansen (6917), Copenhagen V, Denmark
