Creamy, strong, long-lasting palate. But, it reminds me more of a porter than the bocks which I’ve had. And, I just really don’t like porters. Everything else about the beer, from its aroma, appearance, and the aforementioned palate, were good, though.

Sweet fruity aroma with strong alcohol. Dark red/brown color, looks like prune juice. Taste is a nice strong classic doppelbock flavor, sweet and fruity with hints of prune and raisin. Nice smooth finish with alcohol not too prominent and a nice amount of carbonation. This beer is a nice balanced example of this variety, where many can get too sweet or have an overpowering alchohol taste.

Aromas of brown sugar, caramel, medjool date, and sweet porridge. Color is also medjool date, wholly opaque. the thick head it pours with disappears almost instantly. Tastes like oatmeal raisin cookie or fruit bread with an abundance of currant, date, prune, hint of spice, and some alcohol in the finish. Soft but slightly prickly mouthfeel and a thin body for a DB.

Almost opaque brown pour with a very thin off-white head. Big malty nose with a touch of fruitiness, maybe a bit of cherries and banana. Rich malty flavor, sweet and almost tangy fruit complexity. Very nice.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Deep brown coloured doppelbock with a huge tan head. Sweet aroma of bananas. Malty with lots of caramel. A good doppelbock but not exceptional.

Brown bodied with a large foamy tan head that quickly dissipates. Malty nose with a touch of nut. Flavors include hazel nut, caramel malts and a bitter touch of hops. Finish is also slightly bitter/ slightly caramel.

500cl bottle. redish brown. very nice offwhite head. average carbonation. aroma of yeast and brown malt. flavour of yeast, caramel and malt. non-unique hopping. some fermentation off-flavours. not well balanced. acctually, reminds me a lot of my 3rd batch of homebrew.

0.5L bottle. Hazy reddish brown, strong aroma of malt molasess and brown sugar with some floral notes and milky sttreaks. Flavour is dominated by dark bitter chocolate and some cocoa, sweet but not overbearing. Medium full body and quite smooth. My first dopplebock and i hope for more.
