500 ml bottle at abv 7.5% bought at Cheers in Yuen Long.

Looks: Clear amber brown colour. Two finger head and crumpety beige foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Good sticky lacing with active carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and sweet full malt, with strong caramel, toffee, strong brown sugar, mustiness, molasses, light chocolate, plum, raisins, and faint grass.

Taste: Strong and savory sweet malt, with strong caramel, toffee, strong molasses, alcohol, chocolate, sweet rolls, yeast, light lemon and fairly light bitter grassy hops.

Body: Mid to light body. Very slick and boozy palate.

Mouth feel: Very rich maltyness in a surprisingly light but slick body you don’t feel heaviness at all. Sweetness is strong but very pleasant, brown sugar style matched toe to toe with strong caramel, toffee and coca like chocolates. Dark fruit taste somewhat fades. The 7.5% booze is all over the tongue but come across as light and tasty. Yum yum!!

Hoppiness: Faint grass nose, Pretty noticeable lemon and low grassy taste. Bitterness is more like liquorices for a lasting, moderate sweet-bitter finish.

After Taste: Slightly dry. Sweet and easy to mouth.

Comments: This is a very nice doppelbock, with full sweet maltyness, rich caramel and dark fruity elements, strong booze in light touch and doesn’t hurt, plus good hoppiness. This one stands apart from other good bocksas it’s body is rather light without compromising the style and makes it less heavy and more accessible to casual drinkers. Highly enjoyable!

Pours a nice clear red-Amber with a thick light tan head. Aroma is heavy molasses and rich malts. Taste is smooth & rich with mellow molasses and heavy malts. Not complex, but very good and ’wet’. There’s a slight tang at the finish.

0,5 l bottle from local trinkgut, best before 20/11/2015 (7.5% abv). Clear, dark brownish ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Lovely, rich aroma of plums, dark cherries, raisins and molasses, accompanied by hints of dark chocolate. Sweet taste of plums, molasses, raisins and cane sugar, followed by a crisp, medium bitter, minimally alcoholic, counterpart finish with hints of dark chocolate. Full body, very chewy, viscous mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good Doppelbock with a typical sweet and rich taste and a full body. Overall highly satisfying, a very solid winter warmer.

WYGLĄD: Barwa ciemno miedziana, zamglone. Piana drobna, niska.
AROMAT: Wyraźnie karmelowo-palone. Przypieczona skórka od chleba.
SMAK: Zdecydowanie chlebowo-karmelowy. Goryczka niska. Wysycenie średnie.
OGÓLNIE: Jest wszystko to czego się spodziewałem po tym stylu. Dużo karmelu i dużo "chleba", a wszystko to podbite alkoholem, który w niczym tu nie przeszkadza.

500ml bottle, thanks to McTapps! Pours a deep dark brown with medium tan head. Lots of dark fruits, molasses and roasted malts forming a quintessential doppelbock taste. Enjoyable and a perfect beer on such cold night.

Bottle. Clear red-brown color, medium lacing Brown head. Aroma is nice chocolate, coffee roast flavour. Strong sweetness and ethanolic taste, harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is somewhat dull, I’ve expected a lot more. Medium to thick texture, flat carbonation.
