Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with an off white head. Sweet fruit notes some dark fruit raisin and apple tones. A bit bread y with some biscuit notes, dried fruit and a light caramel tone. Some coffee and a mild warming.

This brew poured a medium head of fine light brown bubbles and a semi transparent dark brown body. With a mild malt aroma, this beer starts slightly fizzy with roasted caramel notes and a smooth finish. The head left a nice lacing. This is not a bad Doppelbock, but there are better ones out there. You can taste the alcohol in this brew after only a few sips.

Shiny auburn color with big head between white and tan. Sugary sweet aroma. Smooth on the tongue, with a mellow sweet start, settling into a tart roasted grape flavor. Only for the hearty beer drinkers.

Brown color with a medium head. Aromas of malt and toasted bread. It’s a bitter and dry doppelbock, which surprised me. More malt with an almost bacon-esque finish. The alcohol certainly rears its head. This was a nice treat!

Bottle from BOE 29-09-07 Poured dark amber as description states with a tan head. Aroma not striking but there were some dark molasses. Taste initially was of black treacle and alcohol this tasted a bit rough around the edges some prunes, fine beer but not the best of this style.

Bottled. Dark brown colour. Off-white head. Heavy malt aroma with hints of dusty smoke and a great deal of almond paste and chocolate. Superbly malty flavour backbone with pleasant sweetness without being sticky. Very well balanced doppelbock.

Pint bottle. Pours a fizzy, nutty brown with a medium frothy tan head and spotty lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty malt (medium roast, meal, cookie), fruit (plum, grape, apple) and toffee. Malty caramel and nutty flavor, no acidity, low bitterness, medium sweetness with a metallic finish. Medium and creamy body, slight fizzy palate that finishes somewhat dry.

This brew poured a tan head with small-medium bubbles. The lacing was sparse on the sides of my mug. It had a red-amber body. It had a sweet aroma to it. It had a smooth taste and flavor. There was no bitterness noted with this brew. Not the best Dopplebock that I have had so far, but not the worst either.
