This may be the best doppelbock that I have ever tasted. I put Salvator and Celebrator high on the ratings, but this blows them clear out of the water. Beautiful brown body, off-white head. The taste is incredible. Malty sweetness with the perfect amount of dryness to balance out the flavor. Absolutely magnificant. Too bad it is somewhat difficult to find.

Dark pour, huge thick creamy head. Well-balanced aroma and taste. Aromas of rust, earth and rich malt. Flavor includes peat, malt, grain, and perfectly-balanced hops. Mouth feel is chewy, full and foamy. Overall this dopplebock is very balanced and very drinkable. A great example.

Very malty, sweet, and caramelly tasting. The nose is all caramel and malt. Nicely balanced and an easy drinker for the 7.2%. Recomend to anyone who wants to try a dopplebock.

Bottle. Deep brown-red color, medium tan head. Very sweet, caramel aroma. Flavorvery similar, sticky, and exactly what I expect in a doppelbock. When in Germany, I thought this was the best I had. I might have to alter that, but at the moment, it is still the best. Very sweet, and full in finish, with a tad bit of alcohol.

Dark red brown body topped by a medium thick off-white head with a good amount of lace. Sweet caramel and malt aroma with a slight fruitiness. Slightly sweet caramel and malt flavor with slight roasted coffee and licorice notes. the finish is coffeish and roasty. Full bodied and smooth with a slight dryness.

Nice dark carmel color and intense carmel and malt aroma. Very smooth, pleasant flavor to match. Kind of sweat with just a touch of alcohol. Has a hard to describe quality of smoothness and control that speaks to, well, high quality. Ends in a kind of malty chocolate coffee flavor that lingers and is very nice. I really need to serve this one to friends.
