Sep 30, 2008 Bottle from Nicola’s Liquors. I don’t think people buy beer too often at this place, because this beer tasted old, and not old in a good way. Pours a thumbnail of off-white head over a dark, murky amber body. I could barely detect a malty aroma. Flavors are lacking and thin, but I discovered subtle notes of wheat, grape, flat cola, biscuit, and cookie. Slightly tangy and very watery. Medium/full carbonation and thin body. This is okay; I enjoy the hefeweisse much more.

Sep 24, 2008 Pours a deep, dark caramel brown with a thick, soapy off-white head. Sugary banana-clove aroma with a light banana-sugar-clove taste. Good session beer with a sweet finish.

Sep 5, 2008 Poured from bottle and shared by Dragonstout. Thanks Brian! Nice brownish orange pour. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor was sweet brown sugar, citrus, and even a tad of cinnamon. I actually really enjoy dark hefes. And this one was very good on a hot summers day!

Aug 29, 2008 Bottle from Sam’s. Cloudy pretty average brown pour (slight orange, tan head). Banana and yeast and malt on the nose, but nothing overly complex. Solid. Palate and taste were both a little thin, and something was a bit off-- a bit cardboard tasting. Perhaps this bottle wasn’t a good one. Very drinkable, though.

Aug 20, 2008 Poured from bottle a cloudy dark-amber with a large slightly off-white head. Aroma is malty sweet with a little tart citrus and a faint clove and banana. Flavor is sweet with malt, caramel, yeast, dough and a hint of banana and clove. Palate is creamy and sweet with a little carbonation tang. Overall ok, but lacks the more spicy clove and banana traits I like in a weizen. Very similar to the Tucher helles weizen except for the caramel trait in the dunkles.
