Poured from a half liter bottle into a weizen glass. Pours a semi-hazy gold color with a large white head of tight foam. Decent retention. The banana esters in the nose of this beer are very nice. Some clove and nutmeg come through as well, but mostly banana. The taste has an odd metallic thing going on. It’s pretty distracting. Talk about a beer killer. The aroma was so nice, but that metallic taste really bugs me. I can’t get past it.

Finale impercettibile

Can. Pale cloudy orange with a large white head. Mild bready aroma with lemon, vanilla, cloves, pepper, a little banana. Lightish bodied with a pleasant creaminess. Bready sweetness, some vanilla and banana. Modest wheaty tanginess. Dries out just a little with some cloves and a fair bit of pepper. Solid refreshment in very good nick in the can.

Bottle sample. Cloudy yellowish with small white head. Sweetish fruity aroma (banana, some grapes), wheat, yeasty, some candy notes. Sweetish flavor, candy, fruity (banana, grapefruit), yeasty, a bit milky, sweetish and slightly bitter finish. Light carbonation, light to medium-bodied.

Bottle from Binny’s in Schaumburg, IL. Hazy light yellow pour with a soapy white head. Aroma is unripe banana, wheat, and unfortunately a hint of skunk - probably due to handling & age. I’m guessing that isn’t always there. Light clean palate, easy drinking and pretty flavorful.

Medium sized, quickly disappearing snowy white head. Aroma of lemon sponge cake. Mildly sour taste with a delicate bitterness behind. White bread and lemon peel on the palate. Not at all complex, but always very refreshing. Really something inbetween a Helles and a typical "heavier" Bavarian Weizen.

0,5l Flasche. Typisches Hefeweizen, im Gechmack kommt eher das Weizenmalz durch als die fruchtige Komponente.

Bottle, 500ml. Pours hazy golden yellow. Very tall and dense white head. Strong aroma of banana and vanilla, some honey and very slight yeast scent. body is medium, carbonation is medium to strong. Mouth feel is creamy and thick. Taste is quite sweet, slight pleasant sourness, almost no bitterness. Flavors of vanilla, alight yeast, some wheat, floral honey, some sharp esteric notes, slight malt. After taste is sweet with honey notes. A very nice beer. Easy to drink and not heavy, yet full and present. Flavor profile is very nice, with no off flavors and mouth feel is also great. Only problem is being a bit boring and repetitive from sip to sip.

I discovered this Hefe Wiezen while in Germany with the Army and it has become my favorite Hefe. It has delicate notes of citrus and a refreshing light sour taste with a clean crisp finish.
