anthlovesbeer (61), north grafton, Massachusetts, USA Mar 8, 2008 Very hard to find on tap in my area. When I do, it’s usually an empty keg. That says something about this beer! A great Hefe Weizen. Absolutely delicious and refeshing. A fresh lemon wedge adds the perfect touch. Drop it directly into the beer and enjoy.
BelgianBeerGal (862), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bottled. Different take on the hefe style. Normal hefe aroma but definitely some caramel and malt flavours in there. Interesting. gameface23 (44), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bottle. I tasted strong bubblegum notes with wheat, spicy clove and banana kicking in during the middle and aftertaste. FlssmrBrewAlum (168), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Jul 18, 2008 16.9 oz bottle from Binny’s (Orland Park, IL). Pours a nice hazy bright yellowish hue with a big billowy white head that is sticking around exceptionally well. Aromas are very hefe, consisting of estery fruitiness, a touch of clove, and a bit of spice. Initial largely malt, a little banana up front that leads the way to a wheaty medium bodied mouthfeel and citrusy bitterness that mingle together. The finish is a little bitter for me. I prefer my Hefes smoothed out more, even if they are more lemon than banana. Citrusy and lemon zest are dominant in this hefe. Very grainy in the aftertaste. Good, not top shelf though. hombrepalo (403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Cloudy yellow/brown-ish color. Nice head. Yeast citrus aroma with some notes of banana and cloves. Yeast-dry flavour with a slightly sourish finish. Lightly spicy aroma leads to a soft wheat palate with zesty lemon note. Soft carbonation lifts the subdued fruity esters right into your nose. Delightfully refreshing!
BusBoy (12), , California, USA Jul 14, 2008 Flower and malt smell. Lemon and sulfur on the palate. Leaves a tangy finish. made me say "wait a sec" take another sip. Sulfer slips away into tart citrus. Nice effect on the flavor. Makes my mouth water. High alcohol content. Not as balanced in flavor as other weizens. More hop flavor breaking thru the maltiness. A better beer as you drink it.
