colour is golden with a very thick, creamy white head that sticks around. smell is banana, mild slight yoghurt-yeastiness. tastes like banana, wheat, lightly sweet. palate is full, heavy, grainy. the feel is overall highly quaffable and faultless, but mild and not particularly interesting. however i’m in a beer desert and beggars cant be choosers.

Flasche(@Trinke&Spare WAT): Hazy, "dirty-golden", small & stable creamy head; bananas, wheat, yeast and citrus fruits in the nose; mild to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, pretty light bodied and at least quite soft;; slightly lingering sourish-sweetish finish with flavours of bananas and wheat. O.K. …

50cl bottle from the Standing Order. Appearance - golden with a big fluffy head. Steady carbonation. Nose - light fresh banana. You have to look for any nutmeg notes, if indeed they are there at all. Taste - creamy banana, fresh lemon through the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - balanced and tasty Hefe.

Poured into a Guinness tulip as that’s the closest JDW has to a Weizen glass. (Is this the most expensive beer at JDW, by the way?) Big lasting foam, cloudy gold, lemon, spice, banana and yeasty nose, dry-sweet and lightly bitter on the palate, chewy and lightly banana-spicy, earthy bitterness in the finish. Nice example of the style, and a great Brotzeit (breakfast) beer!

1/29/16 Chicago (1 pint, 0.9 fl oz bottle poured into thin Hefe glass). Clear, pale yellow pour, solid white head. Minimal aroma, sweet but somewhat bland apple taste. Thin texture, minimal carbonation or texture. Disappointing Hefewezien for me.
