steview (731), Oceanside, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 this is actually my first german kristallweizen: i am looking for a light wheat that is great for a quick quench, like a berliner weisse without the high acidity, but with typical ABV--this unfortunately falls short because though the flavor is nice, the palate cannot make up for it; primarily flat, and as if it wants to be cloying... nice, clean aroma and flavor, but nothing outstanding.
PilsnerPeter (1322), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle: Crisp clear golden with a creamy & thick white head. Wheaty nose with a touch of sweet dough and banana. Creamy and frothy feel. Light body with decent wheat malt presence, mild banana bread and some dough. Has a touch of grass towards the finish. Fairly simple, with low bitterness. Boring, but not horrible. esjaygee (664), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 25, 2008 Kristal clear pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is mildly skunky with yeast, banana and mild fruit. Taste of yeast, banana and light citrus. Dry and crisp – not something I expect, or want, in a weiss beer. dkachur (618), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a pale straw color with a medium glimmery foamy head. Banana and gummy bear aroma is very faint. Taste is banana, tropical fruit and grain. Medium body. jbuzz (406), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 22, 2008 Hefeweizen tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee.
